WOW what has happened to Ryle since I watched them play at CovCath earlier in the season.... Great win, in a tough district...

 

The 33rd District seeds doesn't it, and with this victory over Boone, who is now the 1st, 2nd, 3th and 4th seeds? The 33rd District Tournament will be one of the most evenly match Distirict in the Commonwealth....

Suprised by this one, these rivalry games are hard to figure. I guess Ryle got even after the football team took on the chin from the Rebs.

Nelson is a good player. Only time I've seen him overmatched this year was against Hurd from SK.

Earls has been sick the last week.

Nick Nelson was awesome last night. If the Raiders get over 50, they have a chance as they play very good team defense. The district tourney is up for grabs and Ryle hosts this year. I believe that the Raiders won the district with the nice win last nite at Boone and play the Conner/Heritage winner, obviously Conner. Boone ends up with the #2 and St. Henry #3. Who woulda thunk this a month ago? Either Boone or St. Henry does not make it to the region. Congrats to the Raiders.

Is Boone getting worse or is Ryle getting better?

 

I do not think Boone is any worse, they were playing very well early in the season, but do not seem to be much better than what they were then. Playing without Earls hurt them in this game. Ryle is definitely better than they were. They have had some subtractions to the team which has helped the team chemistry and attitude and it looks like they are beginning to play much better as a team. They need to get Maley on track, if he begins to fullfill his potential and Nelson being a force in the paint, they could definitely win the district and make some noise in the regional. Of course they could just as easily come up short in the often competitive and balanced 33rd district! The 33rd is played at Ryle this year, which could be an advantage.

This district as a whole is one that you never know what to expect to happen. I think it will be Ryle vs. St. Henry in the finals, but it could easily end up being Conner vs. Boone. I wish Simon Kenton was still in this district, much better competition in it than their current district.

i do believe ryle has gotten better, not sure exactly what the score was of the 1st meeting but it wasn't close, Boone had troubles the other night, earls is out (not sure why) but i'm not to sure it would've made a difference. Ryle got allot of rebounds and got allot of points from the line. Boone made a run but for some reason when the press stopped working they stayed in it and got beat down low everytime. I've said it 100 times that Boone's biggest downfall is their coach. Ryle will go far this season, they will probably draw conner which will be an easy game for them.

I know one game doesn't make a season but the Cougs did beat the Raiders by 4 earlier this season.

For what it's worth:

 

Boone County 81 Ryle 44 in the first meeting. Granted, it was days after Ryle's football season had ended, but I'm not sure how many football players are contributors for either team.

 

That's a 46 point turnaround in the two months between meetings. I don't know if it means a thing, but those are the numbers.
