colonel-fan Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Herbstreit schedule announced The third annual Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. USA Challenge will return in September 2007, featuring most all of Cincinnati's top high school football teams. Event president Josh Johnston revealed the schedule today, with a South event featuring Greater Cincinnati teams at UC's Nippert Stadium and also a North event featuring upstate Ohio teams at Canton's Fawcett Stadium: SOUTH EVENT at UC's Nippert Stadium -Saturday Sept. 1- (Times TBA) La Salle vs. Brother Rice, Mich. St. Xavier vs. Indianapolis Cathedral Moeller vs. Mission Viejo, Calif. Elder vs. Charlotte Independence, N.C. -Sunday Sept. 2 (Times TBA)- Clayton Northmont vs. DeMatha, Md. Cleveland Glenville vs. Long Beach, Calif. Canton McKinley vs. Union, Okla. Grove City vs. Central Catholic, Pa. The 2006 event, including several games at Nippert Stadium, cost organizers an undisclosed amount of money that they are still trying to pay various vendors. "We have to work through terms of getting everyone paid off, but we're trying to stand by what we believe in and do this for the right reasons," Johnston said. "We've worked hard to bring it back." Johnston is a friend of Herbstreit's from their days at Centerville High School near Dayton. Herbstreit, a former Ohio State quarterback, is now a college football analyst for ESPN and ABC. The idea was Herbstreit's brainchild a few years ago, beginning with Colerain playing Tyler Lee (Texas) in a game on ESPNU in the 2005 season. Johnston said national cable television is a possibility for 2007, but said details are still being worked out. posted by Tom Groeschen at 12:03 PM 1 comments links to this post
JBauer24 Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 What time is the Highlands game? That is also the same night as the Fireworks. Could be interesting getting home from Clifton with some of the streets closures if they have the late game.

We had this problem with the iWireless games, until they finally got the idea what a horrible mess it was.:madman:

NEWCATH84 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Colerain vs. Hoover, Ala. This is going to be a great game. Lets see if the Hoover boys are just pretty boys on TV or if they can play with tha cards. I know they win all the time in Ala but how will they do with the travel? I think they lost their qb who led them to 3 titles and some more guys I am sure. I wonder how well their fans will travel
