BigBlueBash Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Elliot throws a complete game, gave up a couple of hits and had a bunch of K's. Beechies put together a couple of combos at the right time, I think the starter for HC came out in the 6th.
Ironlung Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Congrats to the Beechies! Can't imagine Beechwood losing so many seniors from last years' great team and still beating a supposedly very good HC team. Freshman Roenker pitched well enough to win but got NO support. It's a long season but HC's bats better wake up soon. Great job by Elliot. Hopefully, Beechwood can represent the 9th well in the All A State. With their pitching, I'm sure they will. Good luck Beechwood!

Good luck Beechwood! Ryan pitched 6 1/3 innings against Beechwood, who is this Roenker pitcher. I think a freshman pitched against St Henry and won. Please explain! Beechwood has the ability to beat anyone in the 9th w/Elliot and Bankemper pitching, IMO

Sorry for the confusion as I was misinformed. I agree Beechwood has the ability to beat anyone in the 9th with Elliot & Bankemper pitching. Having said that, it's still pretty impressive that they could lose so many seniors from that great team and come back this year and win the All A.
3ptshooter Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 I might be wrong about this but someone correct me if I am but I think Beechwood beat Ryle in the JV championship last yr also. Beechwood is very talented w/only one Sr this yr.

Beechwood is very talented w/only one Sr this yr. Your correct. Beechwood beat Ryle in the JV Championship last year and this years Juniors also won the Freshman Championship two years ago against Holy Cross. Beechwood lost alot to graduation last year but with the Junior class that they have this year by no means would I consider this a rebuilding year. Coach Myerhoff has a great pitching staff with Elliot, Bankemper, Hadden, Gohs (all Juniors). Good Luck to Beechwood in the All A State. I believe they will play the winner of the 8th region, anyone know who that might be?
Mr. No Name Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Beechwood had to bring their JV to Bardstown last night to play a good East Jessamine team in the Wooden Bat.
SportsGuy41017 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Beechwood had to bring their JV to Bardstown last night to play a good East Jessamine team in the Wooden Bat. Score of that game?
Coachg13207 Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Score of that game? The "B" squad lost 5-0 . They eliminated the errors they had vs Walton early in the week . They just could not muster enough hits . Coach Myerhoff was pleased with effort of the "TIGGERS " vs a solid varsity squad . Yes it is impressive to be have the talent to field 2 varsity teams with 2nd team being mostly freshman and 8th graders and not getting blown out .
3ptshooter Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Seems like a lot of smoke and mirrors here. Ryle is the greatest! And they lost to CCH because?

After reading the paper, Abeling was the winning pitcher against St Henry, the Roenker kid pitched the 7th for the save.
3ptshooter Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 And they beat CCH because? I guess I missed a score somewhere but didn't CCH beat Ryle 3-2 on Thurs night? I know they were do to play again so did Ryle beat them the next game?
