I thought that Boone might have lost too much last year, but I guess not. Looks like the 6A crown will come from Boone County this year. Either Boone or Ryle or Conner.

I am not upset with T and X, they have built tremendous programs over the years and that's why most of the tallent in Louisville want to play there. Just explaining that it's hard to compete with that kind of tradition, when you get whatever tallent lives within 25% of your county. Would Cov Carh be competitive if they were restricted to 25% of the kids that live in Covington? Not everyone can work for the BOE, and I doubt many would change jobs just so their kids could pay ball.

I am sure if Ryle or Conner drew kids from 4 or 5 counties like T or X instead of drawing them from a quarter of Boone County, they would compete.

Did Tate catch any balls today? Looks like the kids might get to practice on the new field soon and get off that cow pasture. LOL Not a bad start playing to a draw with CCH, who is supposed to be decent this year. Highlands will be the true test opening night.

Haven't seen Hemple under center yet but he looked very promising on the diamond. Might be an even better baseball player. BTW, Ryle's new field looks great Luvthemraiders.

The Princeton HS team was not a powerhouse, but the summer team made up from a half dozen Cincinnati school players and a couple from Northern Kentucky was. Could we have formed a better team by taking the top 2 players in each Region in the state of Kentucky? Without a doubt.

Actually, you are trying to compare the tallent pool of a city to the tallent pool of an entire state. I 've seen the best of AABC, ( we played in the 15U AABC Mickey Mantel World Series in Norman OK 5 years ago) and the best of Kentucky ( we played there in 2007 ) and the wider tallent pool had the best tallent by far. Enough said.

I disagree. We played AABC for 8 years, 3 of those years we played with one of the better AABC teams in Cincinnati. The homefield was Princeton HS so naturally we had several Princetton kids, as well as kids from Elder, Moeller, LaSalle ect. That's a bit like saying the tallent pool from 8 Cincinnati schools, 120 kids is going to be greater then the tallent pool from 200 State of Kentucky schools, maybe 3000 kids. If I was going to start a team from scratch and I had my choice of looking at 120 kids or 3000 kids I think I would have better odds from the larger pool. Besides playing AABC and watching the 2, 9 inning games with Kentucky's best 38 to 40 players, I don't think there is a school in Cincinnati that could have competed with either the East or West Kentucky All Stars.

Haven't watched much baseball, have you. I can assure you there are at least 50 kids in the state of Kentucky with similar or greater skills.

There is already an East West Allstar game played at UK or Louisville made up of 2 players from each region at the senior level and junior level. Competing against the entire state of Kentucky would be more competitie then just playing Cincinnati schools. Would be fun to watch a high school game at Great American though.

You have a funy way of showing respect with your "Almighty Raiders" comments. If you have a convection, and obviouly you do harbor much hatred for the Ryle program.... stand by it. I give plenty of kids respect, in fact I was the only one on hear that named some players that had POY potential next year. Your problem, like several on here is that if your not Luke Maile, you shouldn't even be on a ball field. You guys are simply obsessed with the kid to the point where it may be unhealthy.

Like I said, I base my opinion on what I see and 0 for 4 and one for four consistant outings just does not convience me. So you're telling me that every Ryle pitcher the past 3 years must have had his number and knew exactly how to pitch him? Maybe it's time for you to give the Raiders a little credit then, if that's the case.

I'am supprised at you Coop....don't you know thet Maile is the only kid in N KY that can play ball and all the other kids should just pack it in and go home.

I watched Weiss and Layne all summer and they have really stepped up their velocity and controll on the hill. Hump has spent the summer working on hitting from the left side of the plate and is getting it down pretty well. Sheehee unfortunately broke his foot mid season but was playing well before the inury. One other guy on that team is Garrett Wagner, who earned the leadoff spot and was asked early in the season to move to center field, where he had an error free season. He finished the season hitting .390. Not quite the .500 he hit in HS ball, but like you say, hitting against a mix of D1 thru NAIA pitching, so skipping college ball doesn't seem to hamper him. I forgot to add earlier that Mark Gutteridge is at Cumberland and Lance Noll is at Franklin College. Both still playing college ball.

Do you really think they would snub Luke in his senior year and give it to a team mate, even if their numbers were there?

1 Maybe, they are not judging what he does now, they are gambeling on his potential. 2 Same level if he wants playing time. 3 Currently No....Potential, Maybe.
