  1. Sneaky good game here in the state as two undefeated teams square off Friday night in Russellville. Logan County is coming off of a huge 29-27 win vs Franklin Simpson and they are now a perennial district winner in Class 4A district 1. What a great job @CoachAdlerhas done in turning this program around. Greenwood comes into this game 4-0 and although the schedule strength leaves a lot to be desired, 4-0 is still 4-0. Who ya got?
  2. Another cross-town rivalry game that will be one of the last games ever played in the rivalry due to consolidation in 2024. Rumor is that Hopkinsville QB #8 Jefferson will be back in the starting lineup after being out the last two weeks (W vs Caldwell, L vs BG.) I’m sure that will help jumpstart the Tiger offense. Christian County comes in after a 44-14 loss to Madisonville. The Colonels are young but they play hard and on rivalry games you never know what can happen. Can the Tigers get back on track or will the Colonels pull off the upset?
  3. Also potential 3rd round matchups could be Boyle vs Corbin or Johnson Central vs Corbin like last year.
  4. The top 4 are about right. Someone in the East is going to get an absolutely brutal 3rd round game.
  5. I think the Tigers are ready for a schedule break. Playing Ballard, Mayfield, and BG 3 out of 4 games is a tough mountain to climb. Anxious to see the BG vs Boyle game next Friday.
  6. The BG front 7 were tough as nails and dominated this game. They put their offense in great positions forcing 7 turnovers with many of them deep in Tiger territory. The Tigers really struggled without their starter at QB and BG did what good teams do. Tiger defense made some plays and played pretty well considering the circumstances. #2 from BG is an extremely talented WR and the young QB Bailey is going to be a good one. Took some sacks but made some plays with his legs too. Beautiful stadium and great crowd in BG land tonight.
  7. They will have their hands full. That’s the nicest way I can put that. I think that is the biggest mismatch of the game, Hopkinsville OL vs BG DL.
  8. Ballard has two D1 Defensive ends plus a front 7 that wrecks havoc. In saying this I’m also saying BG defense is Elite as well. I just think Ballard is a little better on D. Like a 1A & 1B type of thing. I predicted a 24-3 BG win.
  9. Ballard’s defense is better than the BG Defense. Also I think Hopkinsville is better than McCracken County. In saying that I don’t see Hopkinsville scoring more than 10-14 points max against BG. As long as BG controls the ball and doesn’t lose the game by turning it over or making special teams errors, then they win by a couple of scores.
  10. Bailey definitely bring more upside to the BG offense. What has taken so long to give him reps? Freshman earning his stripes I guess?
  11. I agree BG is the favorite. I don’t see them scoring 30 though unless there are some TD’s or short fields supplied by the BG Defense which is possible. Bailey is the better QB and this would be a good game to split reps with the previous starter. I just don’t think Hopkinsville can score enough to win this Friday.
  12. I think Bowling Green is the heavy favorite this game, especially with the Tigers Starting QB Jefferson status with the team still in limbo. Jefferson, who started all 10 games for the Tigers last year, was not on the field or in uniform for Hopkinsville 34-14 win over Caldwell County. The Tigers have an extremely solid defense and will try to keep the game within striking distance and see if their playmakers can make a few big plays. They led Louisville Ballard 3-0 at the half and trailed Mayfield 7-3 at half so they have proven to be able to keep their offense in the game. Anxious to see whether BG gives the QB keys to the Purple Kingdom to Bailey this game or if they maybe go with an early QB rotation then ride the hot hand. In the end the BG Defense, especially the BG DL will just be too much for the Tigers whether they have their Starting QB or not. BG 24 Hopkinsville 3.
  13. Yes. Although I still think this Hopkinsville team, once they get some issues ironed out, will be a really good football team.
  14. The East side of the 4A bracket is going to be a brutal one. So many good teams. Corbin, Johnson Central, Lex Cath, Boyle. Only 2 will come out.
  15. Hopkinsville JR Stud Daisjaun Mercer had a 65 yard TD Run, 50 yard TD catch, and a 37 yard pick 6 to lead Hoptown to the victory without starting QB Tre Jefferson, who may or may not be back. Caldwell was feisty throughout and it was a sloppy but solid football game. Hopkinsville travels to Bowling Green next Friday and Caldwell will play Crittenden.
  16. How is he graduating this early from HS? Usually it’s a mid year thing but to graduate in September?
