Hopkinsville 24 Franklin-Simpson 17

Tigers come back from trailing 17-0 at halftime. Good win for Hopkinsville especially since they were playing without Mercer.

It was a tale of two halves. Seemed like FS should have been up even more than they were but the Tigers defense held FS to a field goal and a missed field goal on two drives in the first half when FS had a short field after Hopkinsville punting miscues.
Tigers came out throwing a lot of screens in the second half and hit on a couple of long passes. FS Coach Chaney said that they had a couple of starting linemen hurt that couldn’t play in the second half which helps to explain at least some of the problems that FS had compared to the first half.

Congratulations to Hopkinsville and good luck at Logan County next week.
