Tigers And Wildcats Sharpening Claws With Late Season Surges

Records: Hopkinsville (5-5) | Franklin-Simpson (7-3)

Series History: Franklin-Simpson leads 4-3 dating back to 1998

Table Setter: The always mercurial Tigers of Hoptown closed the regular season on a high note, downing equally mercurial Paducah Tilghman. One time Mr. Football hopeful Daisjaun Mercer serves as the axis around which Hopkinsville revolves. The Miami (OH) commit is a playmaker of the highest order looking to finish his career with a flurry.

Franklin-Simpson is having its winningest season since the back to back championship teams in '17 & '18, but they've come up short in their biggest games. Their three losses have come against opponents with a combined record of 27-3, with all three teams ranked, including competitive losses to Warren East and Logan County. They too, finished their season on a positive note, with a win over Glasgow.

There's one common opponent between these two: Both lost to Logan County - Franklin-Simpson by 10, Hopkinsville by 21.

This will be one of the better games imo. Do the Tigers have what it takes to slow down the Franklin-Simpson wing-t? Do the Wildcats have what it takes to slow down stud WR/DB Mercer for the Tige

  • Maybe FS can keep the lights on this time. ? I have watched both teams this year, and I think FS is a better team than Hoptown.  This will be a good game for sure.  24-21 FS.

Going with the home team.

FS has improved since the beginning of the year, particularly on defense. Hopkinsville is always dangerous, even when they don’t have a great record they have playmakers that can change a game instantly. I think FS will win by maybe a touchdown. It’s one of those games that a couple of big plays or turnovers will probably decide.
