  1. 5- Ryle 4- Hopkinsville 3-Bryan Station 2-Metcalfe County 1-Union County
  2. I would be surprised at that score from either team. I think this one will be a tight game.
  3. Another year and another 2nd round playoff matchup between these two teams. Logan County has had success against Hopkinsville in the regular season but that hasn’t translated to playoff success losing 43-8 in 2017 and 42-20 in 2020, both playoff games at Logan. These two teams played a thriller in week 6 with Logan Scoring with 1:41 left and surviving a missed Tiger FG attempt as time expired to win 13-12. Logan County comes off of a 42-24 win over Madisonville in round 1 and are led by an underrated defense and physical running game. Logan averages 30ppg on Offense while allowing 17ppg on defense. They are led by extremely underrated Athlete Wyatt Blake who does a little of everything for the Cougars. Hopkinsville comes off a 52-14 win over Hopkins Central and are winners of 5 in a row since that loss to Logan County. They are also led by a stingy defense and have one of the best players in the state regardless of class in Junior Ath Daisjaun Mercer. The Tigers average 29ppg on offense while giving up 13ppg on defense. Will the third time be the charm for Logan County and they advance to their first regional final in their programs history? Or will the Tigers continue the trend of peaking come playoff time and advance to their 3rd regional final appearance in the last 5 years?
  4. Hopkinsville improves to 7-4 with the victory tonight and sets up another 2nd round playoff matchup next week at Logan County. Hopkins Central finishes the season 6-5.
  5. 5- Cov Cath 4- Scott County 3-Russell 2-Caldwell 1- Bishop Brossart
  6. Johnson Central & Corbin are on a collision course for a round 3 matchup in Corbin. That will knock one of them out. Barring any upsets you will be looking at Semi-Final Games Franklin County at Corbin/Johnson Central Logan/Spencer County/Hopkinsville at Boyle County… Big difference from one game to another although Logan County is solid and well coached, Spencer County is unknown, and Hopkinsville is probably the most talented of those 3 but the most unpredictable.
  7. I think Caldwell wins. You need to be able to throw the ball to beat Caldwell. Murray is a really good rushing team. Caldwell is a really good run stopping team. caldwell 21 murray 17.
  8. Just EKU as of now but I’d be willing to bet things change soon. That kid is special. He will be a Mr Football Candidate next year.
  9. Achilles heel all year. Up and down offensively but have been playing well on that side of the ball lately.
  10. The Tigers played really well and Super JR Daisjaun Mercer was all over the field. The Tigers seem to be hitting their stride just in time for the postseason.
  11. This will be a sad rivalry game to see perish with the Hopkinsville/Christian County consolidation.
  12. Nothing like a PT/Hopkinsville football game to end the regular season. This rivalry has been going on for a long time and usually never disappoints with high quality games and players. Hopkinsville comes into this one winners of 3 in a row after a heartbreaking 13-12 last minute loss to Logan County. The Tigers are led by do it all superstar #1 JR DB/WR Daisjaun Mercer. PT comes into this one off of a 70-0 thrashing of Webster County and will bring a ton of speed and athleticism led by #5 Bryan Thomas. This years game is going to be another close one I believe as both teams are needing a win to continue to build momentum towards playoff time. Can PT’s offense create enough points against Hopkinsville’s Defense? Which Hopkinsville team will show up?
  13. Ballard Southwestern Bryan Station Cooper Central
  14. Tilghman by as many as they want. Looking forward to a really good Hopkinsville/PT matchup next Friday night.
  15. A home playoff game is on the line this Friday night in Morton’s Gap. Yes you read that right. The winner of this game will be the #2 seed in the district playoffs. Hopkinsville comes into this game off of a 59-3 victory over Calloway County. Hopkins Central comes into this game fresh off of a home loss to Madisonville 41-7. On paper it looks like a potentially lopsided matchup but we all know Hopkinsville is Jekyll and Hyde. Can Hopkins Central spring an upset?
  16. Russellville Trinity Caldwell Pulaski County Tilghman
  17. Saturday looks like a good idea to those in Western Kentucky. A good 12pm or 1pm Kickoff time would be ideal in my opinion.
  18. It should have been every school doing it or no school I believe. Those teams that had kids reclass will be better because of it for the foreseeable future. Just my opinion but if you were a school that didn’t allow or didn’t have any Reclass kids you are playing catch-up to those that did. Look at Russellville for example, I think they had 10-12 seniors reclass or something along those lines. Would Beechwood be as good without Hergott? Paducah had a number of kids reclass as well.
