  1. Back to the topic at hand, I just cannot see any current HC taking the Hopkinsville job for a year without a promise to be the consolidated HC. This Hopkinsville job isn’t all that appealing in the current situation. They are at best 2nd in the district to Logan County for 2022 and have no shot to win a state title. A great year would be a state quarterfinal/state semi appearance and even that wouldn’t get you the consolidated job in my opinion.
  2. Hopkinsville also beat Henderson County whom I don’t think Clark has beaten the last few years at McCracken. Not to mention beating John Hardin in the 2020 season advancing to the state Semi-finals. Hopkinsville also beat Paducah this year and beat McCracken fully healthy in a scrimmage. The Hopkinsville/Christian County consolidated job is by far a better job than McCracken County as most people would agree. You will have the same facilities as McCracken with far better athletes. Clark is a good football coach. I would be surprised if he left McCracken to go to Hopkinsville to be the Tigers coach. If he were promised the consolidated job then I could see it. Will Barnes and Derek Johns would not be interested in the consolidated school job and I don’t think the consolidated school would be interested either. That consolidated school will go for a big name hire if all the rumors are true. Dixie Jones did have a D1 signee off of that 2010 team. A DB that signed with EKU named Deno Montgomery.
  3. Clayton elevated the job in my opinion back to relevance. They went to a Regional Final in 17 & a state Semi-Final in ‘20. I wouldn’t call that playing second fiddle at all to Madisonville or Logan County. With the consolidation it isn’t as appealing of a job on the state level and do agree it’s going to be a local coach due to those factors you mentioned.
  4. From the rumors in the western part of the state they are trying to get a big fish or “whale” to take the Hopkinsville job for this year with the intention to move them into the merged school as HC in Jan. 2023. Could be all smoke but usually where there is smoke there is fire.
  5. Probably food vouchers for Ferrell’s, free membership to the Sportsplex, and season tickets to the Hopkinsville Hoppers. Who can pass that up?
  6. For the assistants on the staff the timing matters greatly. Allows them to pursue other jobs instead of being rushed or forced into taking something.
  7. All valid points and desirable traits. Will the LexCath faithful give him time to build and implement his system? Or is pressure on from Day 1?
  8. I guess I’ll take the bait. What makes Bathiany a home run hire for LexCath? I would assume he would need an experienced staff with him because college football, even small college football is much different than HS football. Good luck to the Knights.
  9. I believe there will be considerable interest from Big Name Head Coaches with this job. 6A school with the facilities they are talking, plus a winnable district and more than enough athletes to complete at the 6A level. Could be a big time job and State contender with the right hire. The wrong hire and it’s got the potential to blow up in your face.
  10. Lex Cath would make a ton of sense. Retired so he can double dip in the private pool.
  11. Mayfield will hire in house. I would name my first child Chuck if he took the Hopkinsville job. Can’t see either one.
  12. Chuck coached with his son this past season at South.
  13. No need. If Coach Morris is done then that job is staying in house with either Dew or Hatchell.
  14. Solid coach but hottest name in the state? Idk about that. He would do well at Lincoln though.
  15. Milan is looking for a Head Coach as well.
  16. According to Twitter, Mercer picked up an offer from Miami Ohio this past week. One of, if not the best player that not a lot of people outside of Western KY have heard of. He is a dark horse candidate for Mr. Football in 2022.
  17. No chance. Zero. Probably no interest from either party.
  18. You said a mouthful and then some Chief.
  19. I would say that this school will be the cream of the crop in 6A WKY and on a good cycle of kids can compete for a state title. The support financially & with getting and retaining quality coaches will be key to the ceiling imo.
  20. Because of the unknown I think this job goes to a first time head coach or someone looking to catch lightning in a bottle as a bounce back job. I do not think why sure-fire no doubt guys will apply with the consolidation looming.
  21. Is Garrard a better job/situation than Lincoln?
  22. I like the Dennis Johnson idea a lot actually. Success at Woodford County which is really unheard of and a UK product could really be a good selling point for LexCath.
  23. Gotta be an internal hire I would guess. Is anyone on staff capable?
  24. Noticed that their top 3 returning scorers from last season didn’t play last night when they got drubbed by Bowling Green, which included top prospect Cyr Malonga. Any news on why all 3 were out? They are listed on roster so I’m assuming they are still at Evangel and didn’t transfer out.
