Both teams coming off losses heading to the playoffs.  Both teams have had their up’s and down’s.  Who rights the ship this week?

    Hancock County 35 FS 21

This game really intrigues me. I have seen both teams play multiple times and I think it should be a great game. Last year these two teams played in the playoffs and Franklin Simpson won 35-8. This year I expect a much closer game but I think Franklin Simpson wins 28-20.

This game is one of our Pick Five games:

Can Hancock slow down the Franklin Simpson running game?  That is the major question heading into this game.  The Hornets defense has been spectacular against the run all season outside of their lopsided defeat to Union County.  They only give up around 89 yards per game on average. If they can limit the run as they did against John Hardin (under 200) they will have a punchers chance.

Offensively, I do not love the matchup for Hancock either.  The Wildcats have a strong pass defense that will make things difficult for a banged up Dylan Morris.  The Hornets have relied a little more on their ground game as of late.  They will need their best performance of the season to advance tonight.  If the Hornets get the win, expect Sophomore Brady Eubanks to be a big reason why.

I'm going to go Franklin Simpson 28-7

Hornets to receive.

9 yard TD pass for HC. They lead 7-0 at 8:10 in first.

FS drives as far as the HC 15 but turns it over on downs at the HC 30.

HC 6 yard TD run. Hornets 14-0 at 10:49 in second. FS had forced a punt early in the drive but roughed the punter.

This time FS gets to the HC 18 and then fumbles the snap. Too many mistakes.

Hornets miss a 31 yard field goal but lead 14-0 at 3:09 in second.

FS pass intercepted by HC and returned to the FS 47.

7 yard TD run for HC and they lead 21-0 at 1:10 in second.
