PT (11-0) John Hardin (9-2) *All stats are regular season stats*

These two have two common opponents for the season. John Hardin beat Warren East 48-42, PT beat them 56-6. John Hardin won over Breckinridge 56-8, PT won 56-7.

John Hardin's strength on offense is their dominant running game, averaging 393.1 rushing yards a game during the regular season. Stud running back Cavalli Pittman was responsible for 260 of those a game himself and had 33 rushing touchdowns. This will be a strength on strength battle against the defensive front for Tilghman, who only allowed 51.7 rush yards a game.

John Hardin is stingy against the pass as well, having only surrendered 94.2 pass ypg. On the flip side, PT QB Jack James threw for 305.4 ypg and tossed 43 touchdowns. Tilghman averaged 123.7 rush ypg while John Hardin only yielded 79.9 ypg.

PT has had some injuries towards the end of the season, but their depth has allowed them to keep on so far.

John Hardin is a really good team and their stats are really impressive. Do they have what it takes to travel to Tilghman this week and pull it off?

Some good news for the future of PT, as it has been verifying lately is that the 8th grade team in the D2 playoffs made the state championship game after defeating Ashland today.  This is the 4th

  • Question 1: RPI for the western half of Class 4A looks like this: Franklin County Paducah Tilghman North Oldham Allen County-Scottsville Spencer County DeSal

This is the 4th year in a row in the championship game and won it last season and 8th year in a row at a minimum of the semi-final round.

The feeder programs from 3rd grade and up really do matter and this is the first time I can remember where PT has had this long of a run of success at those levels. I would assume all these teams who are always good year after year have the same thing.

Got to go with PT. Should be a good one for them John Hardin is tough but PT will be to much for them.

How did Mayfield do against PT’s 8 th grade this year?

Mayfield won. Can’t remember the score. Not trying to highjack this thread with Mayfield vs. Tilghman middle school and little league but Mayfield beat them in every grade 3rd-8th other than the 6th grade, to further answer your question. Mayfield doesn’t enter their Middle School teams into the state playoffs.

Well , your guy brought up the 8th grade and I was wondering who won between them. You ain't gotta be that way.

Running clock early and often. A very long round trip bus ride for a non competitive game.

This is a terrible matchup for John Hardin whose defensive secondary will be torched early and often. John Hardin’s rushing stats are impressive against an extremely weak regular season schedule. This one will get ugly early.
My Prediction: Paducah Tilghman 56 John Hardin 7

Tilghman is a terrible matchup for most 4A teams.

The Blue Tornado continues its march to Kroger Field.

Who will be PT's next opponent in the next round? Most likely?  When are they likely to see Franklin or Boyle?

I would think they would play North Oldham at home in the 3rd round.  Then they’ll have to travel to Franklin Co in the semis since PT’s RPI was 3rd and Franklin 2nd.
