I would think they would play North Oldham at home in the 3rd round.  Then they’ll have to travel to Franklin Co in the semis since PT’s RPI was 3rd and Franklin 2nd.

I hate to get ahead but Franklin County/Tilghman is the game I want to see and the winner gets the Rebels.

Some good news for the future of PT, as it has been verifying lately is that the 8th grade team in the D2 playoffs made the state championship game after defeating Ashland today.  This is the 4th

  • Question 1: RPI for the western half of Class 4A looks like this: Franklin County Paducah Tilghman North Oldham Allen County-Scottsville Spencer County DeSal

Who will be PT's next opponent in the next round? Most likely?  When are they likely to see Franklin or Boyle?

Question 1: RPI for the western half of Class 4A looks like this:

  1. Franklin County
  2. Paducah Tilghman
  3. North Oldham
  4. Allen County-Scottsville
  5. Spencer County
  6. DeSales
  7. John Hardin
  8. Bardstown

Franklin and Tilghman are prohibitive favorites and would then host round three. North Oldham will be a favorite against DeSales and should they win, would travel to Tilghman. If Allen County beats Bardstown and DeSales upsets North Oldham, then AC-S would come to Paducah.

Question 2: Boyle County is ranked #1 in RPI in all of Class 4A; Franklin is second and Tilghman third. If Boyle, Franklin, and Tilghman all keep winning, Paducah Tilghman would play at Franklin County in the state semifinals. Boyle County would host someone from the CovCath/Johnson Central/Corbin/Ashland contingent in the other semifinals. Neither Franklin or Tilghman can meet Boyle until the state championship game.

Not saying JH will beat PT but JH has gotten some good wins recently (Desales and Warren East).

JH was the better team last Friday against WE but struggled with many defensive breakdowns when Parsley broke the pocket. JH passing defense has been exposed at times but just 2 weeks ago against Desales it had the best defensive effort all year. It is not small task when going to PT and facing so many weapons that they have. However, one would argue if you have ANY chance against PT (basically everyone in 4a other than Boyle) you MUST control the clock with a ball control offense. JH has played weaker competition but even against the good teams (KCD, Bardstown, Desales and Warren East) they were effective scoring points and running the ball. This JH offense has been a really good offense since week 2. Chew clock and keep it within striking distance has to be the goal. Tighlman has not faced an offense like JHs all year long so interested to see how they matchup. Junior RB Cavalli Pittman also may eclipse 3,000 yards rushing THIS SEASON during this game.

JH is CLEARLY outmatched talent wise but hopefully Coach Preston will have the dawgs ready to compete. They have put together a good season and have a bunch of talent coming back next year.

Ball control, limiting mental mistakes in secondary and creating a couple of turnovers will be key to keeping it close.

Hoping both teams stay injury free! Any links to this one?

Cavalli Pittman is now #1 in the nation for rushing yards. It’ll be interesting to see how much Tilghman’s stingy defense allows.

Cavalli Pittman is a very good running back. But he does not have 2,940 yards rushing. His stats are massively inflated. We ran 3 of his game films and he was being credited for yards called back on penalties and other things. To the tune of an extra 15-20% each game. AITA?

I wonder if PT’s LB Mooney will be available on Friday.  He’s one of their best tacklers.  But the backup, Sanderson, has done a pretty darn good job in his absence.

If I'm JH, I'm throwing the ball early in this game, I mean, why not? At least take a few shots and see if you can catch the PT defense sleeping.

Looks like he's ready to go.
