Hopkinsville vs. Logan County Predictions/Updates
WKY_Football replied to DevilMayCare's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think this is going to be another battle between these teams. Logan is a legit 4A contender imo that has had an amazing run under Todd Adler and his staff. Hopkinsville is always talented enough to make a run but always seems to struggle with consistency. That early season schedule was a doozy. Teams have doubled, tripled, and even quadruple teamed Daisjaun Mercer for Hoptown and have dared someone else to beat them. On defense Bowling Green was the only team to take a shot on him at safety and he intercepted the pass. Teams just aren’t attacking him at all. Logan has home-field advantage but both teams have won as the home team and away teams before. Expect another nail-biter this weak. -

Boyle County at Bowling Green Predictions/Updates
WKY_Football replied to WestDanville's topic in KY Football (High School)
BG’s offense, especially their offensive line and QB Bailey will give BG a chance against anyone. I’m going with a slight upset BG-27 Boyle 24. -
Bowling Green 35 Hopkinsville 6

Hoptown battled BG for about 2 & a half quarters but Deuce Bailey is a difference maker. The way he extended plays was game changing especially in the first half. Hopkinsville is going to make some noise I believe in 4A and advance a couple of rounds deep in the playoffs. BG has some weapons on O and their defense is very sound. They will be a tough out in 5A with a very bright future ahead. -

It’s for Seniors only. Boley isn’t a senior. -
Bowling Green at Hopkinsville Predictions/Updates
WKY_Football replied to Purple88's topic in KY Football (High School)
The Purples are trending up every week. Hopkinsville I believe will have a hard time scoring on this Purples D and Bailey and the Purples O will handle business. Hopkinsville will be better later in the year I believe but will have a tough go this week. I’ll say BG 31 HHS 7. In other news this will now NOT be the last year of football for Hopkinsville & Christian County. Supposedly will go one more year (2023 season) and then merge but with how things have gone there may not be a merger at all. Stay tuned. -
Mayfield 16 Paducah Tilghman 14

Not as big but more physical. PT is a team that wears you down. I expect to see both teams playing in the Semi’s this year. -

Looks like an incomplete pass to me. -

Huge Huge loss for Mayfield if true. That’s the kind of loss that can ruin championship dreams. But more importantly you have to feel for the young man. Prayers that the injury isn’t what it appears. -

Paducah Tilghman at Mayfield Predictions/Updates

Should be a great game. Would not surprise me to see both of these teams representing Western KY in Lexington. Mayfield 28 Paducah 14 This Mayfield defense is LEGIT. -
Mayfield 36 Hopkinsville 0

Mayfield started the first two drives inside the Hoptown 20 that led to TD’s then had a pick 6 that made it 22-0 before you could even blink. Mayfield looked great tonight. This is a championship level Mayfield squad imo. -

I think those will be the 2nd round playoff matchups in some form with the cross district matchups this season. -
Mayfield vs. Hopkinsville Predictions/Updates
WKY_Football replied to DevilMayCare's topic in KY Football (High School)
Sounds about right but the Hopkinsville defense wasn’t terrible last week holding Ballard to under 200 total yards in the 22-0 loss. Long road trip plus breaking in a new starting QB under a new offensive system against a solid Ballard team isn’t the best recipe for success. I think they improve this week but Mayfield will be too much. -

Bardstown at Greenwood Predictions/Updates

I disagree. Breaking in a new QB on the road against a tough defense opening week is hard to do. A loss wouldn’t change my mind on Bardstown at all. -
Bardstown at Greenwood Predictions/Updates

I think Greenwood springs the upset here. Bardstown is a 3A contender regardless but Greenwood is sneaky good especially early in the season. -

BEast is going to have a very good year i believe. Who is their other scrimmage? -
I don’t see how this gets played with highs in the triple digits.

At the Best of the West in Hopkinsville, Nashville Pearl Cohn defeated Clarksville (TN) Northeast to win the 20 team Best of the West. 11th seeded Owensboro Catholic lost to 2nd seeded Clarksville (TN) Northeast in one semifinal & 5th seed Daviess County lost to Pearl Cohn in the other semifinal game.

If I’m not mistaken didn’t Mayfield lose 3 starting WR’s? Coles, Gloyd, & #22? The Starks kid is going to be a really, really, good back and I like the QB a lot. But I don’t think I’ll call their WR’s seasoned at all losing the 3 starters because Coles was a really good one too. Mayfield always reloads so I don’t doubt they have guys coming up that will make plays.

When will Danville beat Boyle County again?

Hadn’t Boyle been a state powerhouse for the last 20+ years?
