Allen County (2-4) makes the short drive to Warren East (4-2) to renew their rivalry for the 2023 season.

The Raiders have had back to back convincing wins over district opponents to land them at a 2-0 start in district play. Allen County will be a step up for the Raiders in comparison to Hopkinsville and Calloway County.

The Patriots are led by coach Brad Hood who always has his guys ready to play. Look no further than their battle with Logan County to figure out just how competitive the Patriots tend to be when playing up to competition. Obviously Paducah Tilghman is an entirely different animal, but I see similar scores district wide in the future as it comes to playing the Blue Tornado.

I think Allen will steal this one on the road at the Smurf Turf

I will call it 20-14 ACS

This game will likely decide who is the 3 seed in District 1. Going to be a really good game I think. ACS last 4 games have been a gauntlet and I think that will help get them ready. I think ACS takes a close one.

WE - 13

ACS - 23

East has had their way with ACS the past couple of times they have matched up, winning both by multiple scores. It will be interesting to see how much difference a year truly makes for these two.

Should be a great game between two teams who frankly just don't like each other, 4-4 in the last 8 meetings between the district foes.

If you look at schedules you can understand why the Patriots are on a four game skid after a tough month of September. If things work in their favor which is a very possible outcome, I could see them running the table and finishing the season 6-4 and representing District 1 as the three seed. On the flip side the Raiders are riding high on a three game winning streak and unlike Allen County after Friday night the road turns very dark for Warren East, having to host PT and then finishing the season with Logan and Franklin Simpson on the road, the preseason prediction of 5-5 doesn't look so outlandish.

I'm unsure what will happen in this game but what I do know is this is indeed a must win game for both programs. I like to think Warren East has the more talented team but the ability to get their talent into space to create is what I believe to be the problem. Allen County will be coached well and have hats on the ball, but will they make the plays when put into that position.

WE 20 ACS 14

Well said on all of it, but to the bolded, it's been more about how they've gotten to this point for me. If they were devoid of talent, it would be a lot easier for me to cave on my colossal failure take at 5-5. I think we're seeing a lot of inexperience from the play calling and scheme stand point that wasn't a concern last season for the Raiders. It's disappointing, but at the end of the day, when you drop games you should win to teams of the likes of Barren County... It's just hard to comprehend. That's not a shot at the Trojans, IMO there's really no justification for laying an egg like that when you've seen what surrounding area teams have done. Combine that with the display they put on at Warren Central, it becomes really hard to trust them week in and out which is why I'm landing on a Patriots victory this week.

@BillNye Lost a lot of offensive skill and 80% of the OL and the inexperience has shown from not just the players but the coaching as well, I agree. These past couple of games while the competition hasn’t been superb, a sense of urgency seems to have been injected into the team. I’d say scrambling out of Warren Central beaten black and blue with a slight victory had something to do with that.

I lean the Raiders this week for two reasons, for one it’s a home game and while it may seem far fetched, Warren East is still capable of hosting a playoff game. The other thing for me is while both teams have created a lot of turnovers this season (ACS (14), WE (15)) Allen County tends to hand the ball back over to the opposition more than the Raiders. Fumbles aren’t a statistic that KHSAA keeps up with which is odd to me but with that being said Warren East QB Parsley only having 1 INT on the season, while Adams for Allen County has thrown 6 INT’s helped make the decision.

@TheBallCoachI think the playoff games between district 1 and 2 are going to be fantastic games. Still so many ways that things could shake out with both districts but other than PT I think all of the teams are very close in talent level. Some important games coming up to decide home field advantage for both districts. Going to be fun!

@DanJack No streaming from the Warren East side and I don’t believe Allen County does either. Will post in thread before kickoff if something crosses face.

Sporting times streams Bowling Green HS and only 2/4 of the Warren County schools (Greenwood & South Warren) no love for the Dragons or Raiders unfortunately.
