  1. Great draw for them too, I agree. Brossart is just the more “local” team to me, so was looking from that lens.
  2. I used to struggle with them when I was younger. I simply don't even have a chance now. I hate the Reds on the West Coast, playoff games there, etc. Heck, I barely see tip for 9:00 UK games now lol.
  3. The Reds are currently 17th in MLB Team Power Rankings. They're 7 games back in the division (which is still led by the Pirates!!!) They are 3 games back in the Wildcard. The Mets, Marlins and Cubs are all teams ahead of them in the Wildcard and they have 3 game series against each within the next few weeks. Win a few games and we at least get to have fun into the summer.
  4. 3 times for me. Once before kids and once each during the "can't really do much new baby stage"
  5. Something I wouldn't have guessed... the Reds bullpen is currently 13th best (based on ERA) in the MLB. Middle of the road doesn't win titles, but I'd have not guessed them ranked that high if asked before the season. On the flip side, their starters are ranked 27th best. That definitely won't get it done. On offense they rank 13th best in OBP and 21st in OPS. They strike out a lot and are 21st in the MLB in that category For our small ball guys, they are 2nd in MLB in getting caught stealing, only one behind the Cubs. They are tied for 2nd in the MLB in Sac bunts and #11 in sacrifice flies. Since I don't want to leave the analytics guys out, they are #4 in MLB in BABIP. When they make contact good things are happening, but they have to make more of it.
  6. vs Browns 13 for 29 for 195 yds and 1 TD vs Ravens 15 for 27 for 168 yds and 1 TD vs Raiders 26 for 39 for 244 yds and 1 TD with 1 INT vs Panthers 17 for 22 for 179 yds and 0 TD These are their last 4 games of the year. Which one would you say he was strong in? MAYBE the Raiders game, but I would expect more against a team that ranked 24th in passing defense last year.
  7. They've locked up at least .500 on a trip out west. If you would have offered that to me at the start of the trip, I'd have been happy to take it. After starting 2-0 and leading in that Oakland loss, it sure would be a bummer not to round it out with a win today and come home 4-2.
  8. So much for winning the first two! Weaver seems to get banged up early. That Padre lineup just keeps throwing quality bats at you.
  9. The Reds (12-16) begin a 3 game series against the Padres (15-14) tonight with a 9:40 first pitch. The series continues with a 9:40 game tomorrow night and wraps up with a 4:10 game on get away day before the Reds fly home and have an off day Thursday. My hope is to see them win the series. If the Reds take 2 of 3 they are 4-2 on a West Coast trip, which is more than they can say after a trip west in a long while. Tonight’s matchup puts Luke Weaver against Blake Snell, who has struggled out of the gate this year with an 0-4 record and an uncharacteristic 5.48 ERA. Tomorrow night’s starters are Graham Ashcraft for the Reds and Michael Wacha for the Padres, who also has an uncharacteristic ERA at 6.75. The get away day pits Luis Cessa against Seth Lugo. Lugo has been pretty good this year. He has a 3.58 ERA and has only walked 6 in just over 27 innings pitched. An old man sitting behind me back in the Cinergy Field days said, “it’s a lot easier to win a 3 game series if you win the first 2.” LET’S GO REDLEGS!
  10. I doubt this takes a month to decide.
  11. Right. I didn’t get to see him play QB (he was oversized by league rules) but he played a great LB!
  12. Right, agree with all of this. It would take the Y’all’s offering to host solely for the experience for the kids.
  13. I’m not sure sure of the Highlands QB situation, but after watching him play 8th grade last year (I know varsity is a huge jump), he will absolutely see time on Friday nights somewhere.
  14. I saw a tweet with this place in it earlier (PBR or something). I’d have never dreamed this was the All A. I wouldn’t pass judgement on it before seeing it in person. My initial thoughts are if it puts kids on a safe and quality playing surface day in and day out within a school budget and space constraints, I'm all for it. With that said, you can’t play this event or one of its level there, IMO. It’s a shame an in state university of even the Florence Y’all’s can’t attach themselves to it.
  15. After his last few starts, is Lodolo tipping pitches? Too predictable? Lots of homers and lots of hard hit outs recently.
  16. In the past I would agree, but last year and the end of his Denver stint I’m not so sure.
  17. I didn’t expect to hear from you here. We usually don’t when things are going positive for a local team. Oakland is a joke, but MLB changed the scheduling format and each team now plays one another, so it has nothing to do with being futile. Hunter Greene gave up 0 earned runs in 5 innings of work. I already know your feelings on him throwing 112 pitches in 5 innings. Have a great day!
  18. That’s awesome. Has a chance to play there eventually too. Pickett isn’t it.
  19. I’m shocked you would have this take…
