Good first win for the Cooper Jaguars.  Andy Johnson goes for 36 despite SK sitting in a zone all night.  Great contribution from future starters Isaac Brown and Roman Combs on the defensive end who were playing in the State football finals just 3 days ago! Fellow footballer and starter Jaidan Combs did not play but I look for him to possibly suit up soon as well.

Once the footballers get their basketball legs under them I view this being another good year for Coach Sully and the Jaguars.

36 out of their 51 points? Wow

Andy Johnson 9th Region POTY

By the end of the season, if not already, Andy Johnson will be the best player in the region. The kid can flat out play.

What do you expect the starting 5 to be when the football players are back in full swing? Is there any size in the paint? I know Combs and Johnson are long and tall, but they both play guard/wing don't they?

I look for the starting line up to be:

Andy Johnson - 6’4”

Isaac Brown - 6’3”

Jaidan Combs - 6’3”

Roman Combs - 6’ 4”

Isaiah Johnson - 6’4”

While I agree they won’t have a 6’6” Big in the paint, this will be one of the longest and most athletic starting lineups in NKY.

Definitely a lot of size in that lineup and a lot of talent! Definitely expect to see Cooper in the same position they've been in the last two region tournaments with a chance to win the whole thing.

Will be interesting to see how they handle a true, back to the basket big defensively. Good thing they have one of the best coaches in the area leading the charge.

Surprised nobody has pointed this out, but he was 5 points shy of out scoring SK by himself...

You’re right.

Sully just proves over and over that he's the best coach in NKY.

In the upper tier, absolutely.

Best? Meh... but maybe now that Rurthsatz and Faust are done he is. He's had some incredible talent and done a lot of winning. His teams always defend really well, but the insistence that his teams slow it down and keep it low scoring has cost them more than it's helped in the postseason.

Faust is still listed as the head coach at St. Henry.

He sure is! That's awesome he's still going with it. I thought he hung it up.

Couldn’t agree more. Sure, he hasn’t brought home the Gold yet but his teams consistently are always in the hunt. Ruthsatz certainly had a significant run and did win Gold but Cooper was easily their toughest opponent IMO and did something I don’t know that was ever done in beating a Ruthsatz CCH team 3Xs in a row and knocking them out of the regionals a couple of times. That 2017 regional final was a superb coaching job by Coach Sully!

Coach R. certainly was at the top with some great teams but Coach Sully continues to do a heck of a lot with what some would call, lesser talent.

His teams just flat out play hard because he demands it and frankly I could care less how low the scores are as long as the Jaguars have 1 more point than their opponent.
