CCH is the clear favorite. More talented, along with a better system and coaching. This kid played at the top level of AAU for Trae Young's team. Also played out in Vegas where competition is better and he was rated the number 2 player in Nevada. Teams won't be able to just double every time he touches it like last year. And now with Thielen developing him, he has 3 years with him it could get real interesting how high he ends up.

This should have went to James" Beetle" Bolden. Would get kids excited to come play, kids in and outside of the district. And his basketball knowledge is higher than anybody else that was in the running. Kinda shocked I'm all honesty!

Are these not two of the biggest schools in the best locations compared to the rest of the region though? The dominance is well above what I think it would be. But these two schools should be right there every year in this region to be fair.

So what you're saying is the barometer for CCH is winning the 9th region or at least making the final? I mean if they are constantly the top 2-3 team in the region I personally consider that dominant. Yes has there been a few teams or two that's have been a thorn in their side, well clearly. But I'd say that's still pretty dominant and a crazy high expectation.

Yeah anybody saying the colonels haven't dominated are just looney. Look at what Scott Ruthsatz was on pace for career wise! Just a hint it was like greatest in KHSAAA history type stuff. I believe with Thielen background at the high division 1 level when it comes to development and being one of CCH own that he is going to only continue to elevate it!

Again come NKU time you can hand this team the trophy. I will be shocked if there is a game within 20!!

Yeah and the suggestion that this kid should/could sit out until tournament time and play is actual ludicrous. He isn't a D1 hooper, that's not Brandon Hatton or James Bolden walking through that door. Even then that's a no no, what are we actually doing here guys? Some really need to sit back and read what they're saying at times. Like mentioned above what's that telling other kids and parents? What's that setting up for you program going forward? If he can't commit to play for you by mid/end December I wouldn't want to incorporate anybody into my roster that close to meaningful games.

No more than 5-6 I'd say as true bluebloods. But also some schools are more modern bluebloods than others. I think every single one of beechwood's titles came after 1980 or something crazy.

Yeah highlands has to start being the upper echelon program they think they are then people will start to talk about them like it again. Beechwood is in a class of its own these last 10-12 in NKY.

Wouldn't say doubt this is the case. Snap says this but the school going forward is gonna have to do it. Outside of basketball program last 10 years Newport is on par with all these schools in every aspect of a school. So yes it did play a part because at the end of the day this is who they are. And elite players rarely play at the D3 level.

I've heard Newport is struggling bad with numbers in their school in general.

Essentially a prep league down in Atlanta. Attracts many of the best high school players in the country year and year out. About 8-10 teams that play a league type schedule. Have access to college like facilities and schooling. Some notable alumni are the Thompson twins, Alex Sarr, Somto Cyril, Rob Dillingham. Started from the viral videos and edits Overtime used to make of hoopers.

Penick left for a season and took his son with him. Who also happens to be one of the better middle school players in the area. But those same reasons he left hasn't changed even with the superintendent change. Plus he is actually family of mine, I can guarantee you that he wouldn't apply for this job.

You clearly have no idea how recruiting works my friend. You don't think ever small school in the Midwest would be all over this kid? Every single Mac school would have an offer out if he was this underrated but talented enough to play at OSU or any of the big dogs.

It's not even like this kid is class of 28/29 to allow time to blow up. He's a 27 kid, he would have a crap ton of interest from other schools before he would have the elite of the elite. Like I actually eat, sleep, breathe this stuff. I can promise you ND,tOSU, and PSU have not recruited this kid a single bit.

So where does CCH look now that the legend is gone?

Most would say he's been better at basketball majority of his life. He and Taylen Kinney(top 15 player in nation from Newport) were the starting two guards on their travel/club team pretty much all through elementary and middle school. Won the national championship in 8th grade. Cash is just a flat out stud but smaller in stature so most likely D2/3 future.
