  1. I’ve heard a prominent young guard has left his school and is transferring to a 9th region power! Will start there on Monday, and may be bringing someone along with him. I thought/knew this move was just a matter of time.
  2. I think that tells us everything we need to know, they believe in him and he believes in them. Nobody sees the blood sweat and tears they all put in together. They wanted that moment with each other, all the congrats in the world to them!
  3. I mean he is the step father of one and uncle of other, so I’d surely hope it’s not the latter. Anytime I’ve been around or spoken to the guy he seems like a great person for kids to be around and learn from.
  4. He does have strong connections, and I wouldn’t rule out them going that route to push them as hard as possible. Drew is that type of guy, and like many said coached their 8th grade AAU team to 38-0. This was while playing in the hardest circuit in the country with nky guys like Kinney, Turner, and Harney. He’s great for these young men!
  5. Sad thing is does anybody seeing it changing much in the future? I feel like the last handful of years the 10th has been the same teams being competitive.
  6. Two of the better points made. From personal experience coming from a smaller school, that’s a huge part of it. Just hoping and wishing you can make it to NKU. It not being there would 100% take some shine off.
  7. Yeah that just doesn’t sound enjoyable to me, the environment isn’t that far off at NKU. The pros outweigh the cons and that’s why it won’t ever be moved back.
  8. Exactly, everyone is making all great points but at the end of the day everything is honestly about money. No way they turn away thousands of people that want to come each year just to satisfy some who want a better environment. I personally go every year and think the environment is just fine. Last night was an awesome opening session.
  9. These gyms just aren’t holding enough people, the regional has brought in 7k for some semis and finals. Maybe could do first round games somewhere then bring everyone together in the big arena.
  10. Would be tough to even fit tonight into a high school gym comfortably, it was packed for the first session of the tournament.
  11. Like we’ve talked about over and over, the 10th is very weak. GRC would have to totally not show up one night for them to not win the region, and taking it a step further that alone will attract kids. Knowing you have a glaring path to Rupp each year!
  12. Will be an outstanding regional tournament, pretty even draw will only add to that.
  13. Further proves how incredibly weak the 10th is outside of a few programs!
  14. Separated, district winners can only play runner ups from a different district.
  15. Reading between the lines, when will Eddie be announced?
  16. Believe I said this in a thread a couple weeks ago, Conner is very up and down! Congrats to both teams though on a hard fought game..
  17. Woodland? Can’t go to Scott as an 8th grader, or did he stay at Turkeyfoot and jsuy play up for Scott in the 8th?
  18. Some of the big games throughout the years though has brought in 5-10k, a lot of basketball junkies up here that don’t make the stadium feel so big!
  19. 9th is pretty awesome every year at NKU, you know your gonna see some talented ball.
  20. Wow this might be somewhat alarming regardless of any parameters people want to put in play. Holmes has 1 win over Dayton and it was by 4 , and I’ve watch D3 schools beat up on them. Conner has played up and down to competition quite a bit, and I think they will get popped by and underdog before they even see CCH again. Somebody like a Lloyd, Newport, Cooper or St.Henry!
  21. It was the same thing last year, their path to the title was the path of least resistance to put it nicely. The 10th is terrible and they had a really really good draw, they didn’t get tested until the final 4. I think if you put them in the 6th,7th,8th,9th they don’t make it out of region last year or this year.
  22. Yeah I’m taking Conner over North at this point hands down, they don’t impress me outside of Reed. And he hasn’t played as good this year! That’s just one team, Conner plays in one of the hardest regions in the state and has some wins against top top teams. In my honest opinion I think people take the lazy route or might just not have the time of their day to get a good feel of most teams.
