  1. High School basketball is a sport that's very tough to compare scores when comparing two teams. Its hard to count on 16 and 17 year old kids night in and out so some scores vary and don't tell the whole story. Not to mention each team has very different matchups, watching both play its gonna be very difficult for Beechwood to get anything going IMO. CovCath has the personnel to shutdown Beechwood and no basket is gonna come easy. Who else is gonna be able to handle the pressure besides Draud and Downton? People sleep on the fact that CovCath can get into you and play physical because they have erasers at the rim (one being 7 foot). CCH will beat whoever is in the district championship by 15, and look for Stocks to really show his game on the defense of end if it is indeed Beechwood.
  2. So was the 7 footer out? His presence alone probably changes this game.
  3. I agree. Would be really tough for him to defend and even create his own shot at that level of basketball. We saw how dominate Sean McNeil/Adam Kunkel was around here a few years ago. In Sean’s limited minutes at WVU he’s scoring a lot differently than his days at Cooper, mostly a jump shooter that depends on other guys to create. Kunkel is having a great career so far for Belmont and his play has transitioned fairly easy. Which is why a competitive mid major is the perfect spot for kids in this mold. All very skilled and athletic but that next level athleticism/size is what separates Major and Mid Major!
  4. So as a junior Beetle dropped 33 on Dominique Hawkins at Rupp during their great run. Do you guys believe Vinson is capable of something like that? Because Beetle has struggled to get quality minutes for Bama and was a backup PG/spot up shooter for the worst WVU team in some time. I surely think he would have been better suited at a mid major where he could have really dominated. Vinson will get his school paid for no doubt but ask yourself in comparison to Beetle where you really see him fitting in. He’s a lower D1/High D2 guy in my opinion which is great. D1 athletes are a rare breed and I think cause the talent being down that’s getting thrown around a lot.
  5. And even then they weren’t playing bad ball. Lasalle is #6 in Ohio D1, lost to 2 time defending champion Moeller 45-43.
  6. Following the state closely this year it’ll be a huge disappointment with anything but another final four appearance, barring any crazy draws! Really only a handful of teams that can compete with CCH and that might be to many.
  7. To be honest you should be worried if your team is hitting their stride in mid January. A team this loaded and deep it’s gonna take a few months to get the defined roles figured out, I think it says more that they have been blowing people out. The 3 times I watched them they subbed majority of the game, come tourney time it’s gonna be down to a 8-9 man rotation with a lot more confidence in the system. Have you seen who their 3 losses are too?? Who else has the quality wins that they do? Idk what else they could do to live up to “expectations”, but there should be zero worries about these colonels!
  8. Out of the top 5 CCH has been the most impressive team IMO. A tough game in Lexington vs what looks like is gonna be a really good LexCath team. Great game vs Oak Hill Academy that ended in a loss, and then a tough loss to Lasalle who can always play ball. But they have some really good wins and just won The Battle at the Villages against stout competition. One team was coached by 14 year NBA vet Charlie Ward, another made back to back 5A final four in Florida. And Blanch Ely is back to back champs in the state of Florida. I think Ballard winning the KOB and how strong they have been to start is a close second but the Colonels have really impressed me getting it together so quickly!
  9. Orangemen Elite on Instagram: “I don’t know another 6’6 14 year old that can do all the stuff Chandler Starks can do on the basketball court. This kid is a BEAST.…” Most recent video of Chandler. Kids gonna be quite the ballplayer!
  10. If anyone was a fan of Michael Moreno these last few years think of a younger version of him. Athletic enough to go by bigger boys, but skilled enough to post you down or face you up and knock it down.
  11. He doesn’t have to be super athletic either he is athletic enough with his dads genes. I don’t know what player you have been watching but he is far ahead of most freshmen when it comes to skill. He has size and can put it on the floor to create or can shoot it. Has an arsenal of post moves, but is really dangerous facing up on the mid range as a stretch 4.
  12. Good thing it’s just your opinion as I believe he doesn’t even play football anymore. The kid is very skilled for his size and age, that will only continue to progress as he gets older . He is firmly in the 6’4-6’6 range and isn’t done growing! He has a very soft touch from anywhere on the court and knocks down long range shots consistent enough as a freshman. With the work they do at CCH its not a stretch at all to think this kid could reach top 75.
  13. Don’t get me wrong Rayvon is the better player but the gap isn’t as wide as some of you believe it is. Their play has proven it!
  14. I find this funny because Starks just got MVP of their AAU squad Orangemen Elite which had an excellent summer! Beat the #1 freshmen in the country a few weeks back. Fully anticipate him to be one of the top players in the state regardless of class , he will be top 75 nationally in his class when it’s all said and done.
  15. On Bryce's 247 recruiting profile it says he is enrolled at CAL !
