They didn’t struggle, up 17 at one point. Pretty sure 15ish in the 4th and won by 9. Fully in control of that game.

I agree with the sentiment about EJ, he has to develop a go to game. He’s kind of a tweener, I don’t know if he is athletic enough for the wing position at that level. But he isn’t big enough to play a big either, great player and will play at that level. Just would love to watch his game develop into a high level D1 kid he has the body that’s forsure.

CCH handled crossing a good ways better than GRC. I still think last year CCH guards would have been a tougher matchup for GRC than WC. This year even more so with their shot making and perimeter pressure. Colonels are right there with anyone, even dating back to last year who’s played consistently better? Tough loss in semis and on a roll this year.

Exactly how I’d play them as well, will be tough for a lot of teams to contain Israel on that college court come regional time though. Also I don’t think EJ uses his size well enough, in high school athletics such a huge advantage being 6’8. In the long run though being on the wing will be beneficial cause he will be a 4/3 in college.

Yeah nobody has slept in Israel, he broke onto the scene last year. And anybody with knowledge had him in their top 5 and still do, like above poster said. Lloyd has really just under achieved especially with two D1 kids.

They remind me a lot of Dunbar a few years back when they won it then the following year had a lot of the same pieces just couldn’t put it back together. That’s not necessarily this team cause their in state schedule is pretty weak, and getting out of the 10th will be cake so I think they’ll be there at the end.

Best chances of that happening would be either Male or Mad Central. Even though I think they are better than both still could be interesting games. They play N Laurel twice but idk if the pieces around Reed will allow them to stay with the colonels.

I agree would be hard not to put them number 1, especially with GC win over Maxpreps #5 in AL. Just makes CCH win over them look that much better.

Sun coast had 6’9, and 6’6. For the crowd worried about the colonels losing their size last year.

CCH was in control of the whole game vs Great Crossing, was never really in doubt. I think they have to now be at #1.

Is this game already sold out? Never mind was able to get some online, whispers out there already of it being sold out. Should be an awesome atmosphere!

Let’s be honest there’s always about 3-4 teams to pick from the get go as the legit regional contenders. Not hard to see those teams and from that I don’t see them losing. They will have to earn just like they have any other year.

Let me add Lloyd, I haven’t gotten to them yet this year. Talent wise they could forsure win the region, I think EJ can give them issues without having a true big but again it’ll come down to discipline and defense. I can’t see a team like Highlands or Newport who gets up and down the court beating them.

Never say never but it would be a huge upset if they didn’t win the region. Most other teams don’t D up like coach Faust teams do, that’s a huge reason this game was this close. Also not having Kascyl, your second best player is also a huge factor. I’ve seen most of the contenders already, Cooper or St.Henry are the two I'd keep an eye just cause they defensive identity. Outside of that no chance!

CCH will walk away with the region unless Lloyd is much improved. About the only contender I haven’t seen yet. Seems like last year we’re everybody is a step below the colonels beating up on each other for 2nd.

That’s how this team will look most of the year, quick and shifty which helps them keep everybody in front on defense. Then offensively it’s just so spread out, and 3-4 elite shooters. It’s super tough to guard with someone like Evan operating the floor. I knew the younger McGillis would play but not start and play that well, he will be a joy to watch for awhile.

Could have easily been 40+ subs were in early.

2 D1? And I think they will be, like you said different forsure but I think this team just lines up more with what they’re Uber successful teams have been. Spacing, shooting and High IQ ball. Come postseason last year teams were cheating off Chandler a lot, everything just seemed clunky.

Johnson is the highest ranked and the best on a national scale. I know In NKY there’s some studs coming up, Newport has the two mentioned above.Kinney is super advanced for his age, his feel for the game and advanced skill already are awesome to watch. But CCH also has two that need to be mentioned in Athens Mcgillis and Donovan Bradshaw. Mcgillis game is super fun to watch, lights out catch and shoot guy. Also very quick, people tend to say he is Steph curry like in the way he runs around and has a quick trigger. Bradshaw is the younger brother of Lacey from ND, 6’4-6’5 will play the 3/4 that can defend all positions and is lanky and athletic. Not much of a skills guy but super athletic and great body, CCH should be able to develop him. Both play at the highest level on the AAU circuit for Midwest Basketball Club. Reed Shepherd, Rayvon Griffith, Gabe Cupps, many of the top Midwest players play for this program just speaks volumes of their talent.

They were underestimated not talked about in terms of winning, and then went on to win it while their best player showed out and played the best and he still didn’t get the MVP. But what do I know!

He is another reason why the CCH being not as good thing is just wild to me, they reload every single year. Their program is at a different gear/level, it’ll always be a players game. You can’t win without dudes, but they have some dudes coming up to replace what they lost. Bradshaw and the younger McGillis will be the best young duo in the region after for years to come. They play big time AAU and do it very well. And this year you better really sit down and guard cause there will be shooters everywhere, and if Evan isn’t scoring he will find them. I think they could be better, offense won’t be as stagnant. You have a lot more shooting and scoring threats from downsizing, on top of being able to guard better.

Until someone Dethrones CCH they are the favorites. Coaching staff, skill, system; it’s a multitude of things that have made them what they are during this run. Not just strictly player talent, they will play the hardest, be the best coached, take care of the ball and have the best player on the court. When they play Lloyd and some of these other teams last year it wasn’t even the big men they lost that did much. It was superior guard play, taking care of the ball and great shooting. Plus they have some young size to make up for what they lost, scoring wise I think they are better than last year. Need to make up some defense and rebounding, but in all honestly people are basing the gap closing off losing a couple kids. That’s not reality at all from what I’m hearing.

Running clock with or without Crone. Beechwood has the horses and the defense to slow down SK, what was it under 8 PPG average last year and only have added to that? Now without Crone good luck, SW having over 300 rushing yards does not bode well at all for the Pioneers. You have potential Mr.Football and arguably the best back in the state, then they sprinkle in the athleticism of Robinson, it’s truly thunder and lightning.

If this is the case, Crone being out doesn’t make the defense defend the run. Berger and Robinson might have a field day!
