I think everyone is gonna regret leaving Athens Mcgillis off of all these regional rankings. Outside of Kinney I think he will be the best scorer in the region! Best shooter in the area and the colonels will be looking to him a lot now that Evan is gone. Very skilled and now’s how to get his!

I do think they will be the best guard tandem in the region. I get Newport and Cooper love, but the way they can play and feed off each other being very different guards will be a sight to see. Both very quick and have great feet work! Athens more of the go to guy on offense and the scorer when you need a bucket. Cash make a lot of great plays and passes, get you into an offense and defend the other teams best guard.

Anyone got opinions on these matchups? Interested to hear a little more about the west ones.

Does anybody have an idea of who would meet who in next weeks round 3? Anxious to see who would travel where, and what top matchups we could get.

Let’s refrain from throwing the Cincinnati area in there. There are several receivers over there that would be fits for every starting cornerback in NKY. Yet alone a 5’10 sophomore starting for his first time. We get the point no need to exaggerate! Competitive against NKY isn’t any where near being competitive against Cincy. CCH passing game hasn’t been tested on that level, let’s be real.

Don’t think they should lose before the semis. I’d say the football guys play over Christmas break, many teams play opponents that don’t affect their goals. Would be a great time to incorporate them.

Also people forget Harney and Kinney were the leading backcourt for their AAU team for 3+ years. Many head to head battles in practice I’m sure, it’ll be awesome to see it!

Cash is forsure a lock! That sophomore class is loaded though….

He was clearly invited, so you can say whatever you want wording wise. But these schools know what they are doing regardless of the rules in place.

The official vs unofficial is just depending on who pays for the visit. The family or the school, but in all reality I’ve always heard the school is paying it’s just not known. Only 1 official visit per school now, but can go to as many schools as you want. I’m a big OSU football fan and there is rumors schools are giving 5k to just come on unofficial visits right now with all this NIL crap .

Believe it’s considered an unofficial, but he is still officially being recruited by them.

Ahh I see, don’t know much about the 8th this coming year so I can’t really comment on it. Was simply just saying I’ll believe it when I see it with Steiner.

Let’s not get carried away. SK is the biggest school in the region I believe, and some years struggle to get out of district. They are in the I’ll believe it when I see it section. They underperform almost every year!

Yeah it’s a recruiting visit. Kentucky is recruiting, like many of the other top schools in the region. I’ve seen sites have him a 5 star in the 2026 class.

LC with a running clock. This is a huge step up for the Juggs, not sure they are ready for a perennial power yet. The old saying of ”there is levels to this”.

There’s some clear hating and hurt feelings going on that the kid didn’t stay in NKY and end up at CCH. He has a D1 body and work ethic and his mechanics are very good at an early age. He will be a Divison 1 QB and to act like the area and the Colonels couldn’t use that is pure foolery. He’d be the starter as soon as Pitzer walks across that stage! Elder is a MAJOR MAJOR step up from any football we have here. The guy he is losing out to could be a top kid as well, we are talking about big boy football here. This isn’t the jab you think it is.

Oh I 100% get it and agree with many of the things you guys have pointed out. But let’s be honest the chance of any of these guys being NBA players are very small. My thinking at least for my son is the total package, I want a school that will prepare him for college in the classroom and teach hard work ethic. That also has above average and hard working athletics that’ll teach things the classroom can't. But it’s the combination of things, a school needs to meet a certain threshold of academics to dictate future success of one. Yeah there is some that do better with what they are giving and go on to have that success. But do you really want your kid surrounded by that? I want like minded individuals all pushing for the same goals around my kids.

Yeah think that’s been a thing for a few months. He was on their bench during all the summer stuff. Loads of talent that are sophomores and younger for the Wildcats. No offense to anybody but I’m surprised so many of these parents are sacrificing the education part of this. It wasn’t to long ago Newport was being shutdown by the state.

I’ve heard Sebastian is now at NCC, anybody else able to confirm or deny this?

He may be a freshman, knew he was young regardless.

He’s a soon to be 8th grader that’s about 6’5 already! Dad is 6’8 and played at UC. I think the younger Starks will be better than Chandler, he is more built body wise for high level college basketball. As in Chandler was always built for college football.
