  1. I think it’s awesome to see Bach and Snapp in the scoring columns for Augusta again. I played against and followed the older brothers and they were a treat to compete against as well watch!
  2. Highlands is the only team that has been competitive at the top of the 9th last couple years that Campbell has beat and even they are down right now. Dixie and Newcath have been down for a good 3 years now. Campbell would be 7-8 in region 9. Outside of Mason and GRC who else in the 10th could compete with the top 5 in the 9th? 6-15 is a lot deeper in the 9th as well. I’m from the area and is always a discussion, but just using small schools how many could leave the A in the 9th and win it in the 10th every single year? Outside of GRC, Campbell and Mason the 10th year in and year out is considered weak to many people and regions.
  3. Newport seems to be playing to their competition early on this season. And that’s what scares me about them to say they will make a run late in the season. They are a young team and come tourney time you can be popped on a given night, especially when I believe other teams will have coaching advantages. I think Miller is a bigger loss than people tend to believe, they are getting beat up on when it comes to physicality.
  4. What makes this a statement? Harrison is 2-4, haven’t even faced great comp. And neither has GRC, I think this team has a ways to go to get to the level they have been at. They only beat Campbell by 3 who isn’t really special up here in NKY. And it’s not like we will know soon, the Cardinals schedule is beyond weak. Off a first glance Douglass and Great Crossing are the only top 15 I even see them play and that’s not til February. The 10th is weak weak!
  5. No doubt about that, and I didn’t take it like that. He’s just in a situation where they have a lot of talent around the same age. Really we are all blessed because there is a ton of talent in the region that is younger!!
  6. Gaiser is a great ball player. This shouldn’t even be a conversation, Ruthsatz brings more to the table right now. Better defender and better shooter, they don’t need somebody else to dominate the ball. Nolan is a perfect role guy, Gaiser role most likely is gonna be limited playing time in big games might take a little bit of ball handling duty to give those guys a break. But will play a lot and have the ball quite some in blowouts. He just is a different player than the other 3 right now! I think he actually does some things better than Nolan but it’s not those specific things CCH needs right now. This is what makes this team special, very deep and unselfish team. Can be a different leading scorer any given night, can’t key in on 1-2 guys!
  7. I think him starting was smart, more of a guard oriented team they were going against. And he’s arguably there best on ball defender, brings a lot more to the table on that side of things than Gaiser does. Feel bad for Gaiser because this is a very young team. Only 4 seniors, and he is gonna be stuck behind Athens and Cash pretty much his whole career. Might play beside those guys but they will be the go to guys. Bradshaw, Cash, McGillis, Wermuth, Gaiser all sophomores. Then Ruthsatz and Stewart are juniors both in the rotation. So majority of the team playing is young, and also can’t forget young Hussey who is a player and only a freshman.
  8. Don’t totally agree with this. Some of those Newport kids especially Kinney are Newport through and through. And if people haven’t been paying attention Holmes hasn’t been good for almost 10 years now, James Bolden and his crew were about the last team that compete on a regional level. This isn’t anything new, so we can stop with the post when they lose to small schools. They are now in that group, they lost many games like this within the last 5 years.
  9. I see Travis Perry and Taylen Kinney controlling any and every game they are involved in within the bluegrass this year.
  10. Newport is the real deal. They have the best win so far, and looking at their schedule they don’t have any guaranteed loses or games they won’t be favored in. Maybe 1-2, I think they are heavy favorites to cut them down. Just because of opportunity, Cooper and CCH only two 9th teams that have a shot at the upset. And come tournament time it’s such a guards game, you have to have someone outplay Kinney. Good luck!
  11. Jumping out to an 19 pt lead vs a St.X team without your football guys should be a huge accomplishment. Chance Dillingham isn’t his brother but is a bucket getter, and doing that without Cash on him is impressive feat.
  12. That’s why I think they will be so feared. These type of teams have been Scott’s best, yeah their top end talent might not be as high. But 1-10 they are deep, will play hard and are talented. Able to hold everyone accountable and if you aren’t doing that someone else will. Other teams in the region won’t really have that factor, some but not to that extent. And will have ball handlers and shot makers to do enough on offense to get by. Defense and decision making is what will allow this team to make Rupp.
  13. I think everyone is gonna regret leaving Athens Mcgillis off of all these regional rankings. Outside of Kinney I think he will be the best scorer in the region! Best shooter in the area and the colonels will be looking to him a lot now that Evan is gone. Very skilled and now’s how to get his!
  14. I do think they will be the best guard tandem in the region. I get Newport and Cooper love, but the way they can play and feed off each other being very different guards will be a sight to see. Both very quick and have great feet work! Athens more of the go to guy on offense and the scorer when you need a bucket. Cash make a lot of great plays and passes, get you into an offense and defend the other teams best guard.
  15. Anyone got opinions on these matchups? Interested to hear a little more about the west ones.
  16. Does anybody have an idea of who would meet who in next weeks round 3? Anxious to see who would travel where, and what top matchups we could get.
  17. Let’s refrain from throwing the Cincinnati area in there. There are several receivers over there that would be fits for every starting cornerback in NKY. Yet alone a 5’10 sophomore starting for his first time. We get the point no need to exaggerate! Competitive against NKY isn’t any where near being competitive against Cincy. CCH passing game hasn’t been tested on that level, let’s be real.
  18. Don’t think they should lose before the semis. I’d say the football guys play over Christmas break, many teams play opponents that don’t affect their goals. Would be a great time to incorporate them.
  19. Also people forget Harney and Kinney were the leading backcourt for their AAU team for 3+ years. Many head to head battles in practice I’m sure, it’ll be awesome to see it!
  20. Cash is forsure a lock! That sophomore class is loaded though….
  21. Holy Cross has good numbers what makes you think they fold on the program?
  22. He was clearly invited, so you can say whatever you want wording wise. But these schools know what they are doing regardless of the rules in place.
  23. The official vs unofficial is just depending on who pays for the visit. The family or the school, but in all reality I’ve always heard the school is paying it’s just not known. Only 1 official visit per school now, but can go to as many schools as you want. I’m a big OSU football fan and there is rumors schools are giving 5k to just come on unofficial visits right now with all this NIL crap .
