If Queen can command the huddle and offense, take care of the ball, and just move the chains not be Superman I think you give the nod to him. He is the future anyway, it allows him to get in there and start his development. And it also allows your best defensive back to focus on that and also would give you another weapon to the ball in their hands. He wouldn't let cash play both ways at QB, but he will if Queen plays QB.

That's my point he is only undersized because of position. Freddy D doesn't have any big boys to play D line down there in the heart of the Bluegrass?

They did this kid a disservice. With those testing numbers he could easily be a linebacker, or even a DE at high D1 level. Some school may take a chance just off the athleticism alone and then teach him up on a position. Anybody from Freddy D on here willing to let us know if this kid is being recruited?

Any elaboration on that? Nobody here will mind, I'll come out and say I've been hearing Tay Kinney is leaving to go prep. Specifically OTE in Atlanta, the same place Jasper Johnson from Woodford is going. And I'm from Covington, just the scuttle butt in NKY.

And to your other comment I think CCH will be second not cooper, and also have the best coach in the region going forward. He's been at high D1 level for the past 5-7 years, he is gonna run all the right sets, push all the right buttons and make sure he gets the most out of every kid. That's not to mention he knows and saw what it takes to play at the highest level so to speak, he will apply that to his high school kids. Sad thing is Guru is right, this region has been a two horse race for several years now. Newport over took that and made it a 3 team race.

In all reality Tay and several of Newport's starters are facing better defenders and talent on their big level AAU circuits. Yes cooper plays awesome team defense and plays hard, but I don't think some football guys are slowing this team down. And I love Andy Johnson scoring prowess and him as a player, but Taylen is arguably the best talent we have seen in the 9th in 30 years. Talent evaluators and scouts clearly back that up! He's currently running the show, scoring against future pros and then gonna come play 9th region ball. I expect him to take a major leap next year. Might average 30!

Newport. Cooper.CCH. Everyone else.

I said this months ago he was never playing for Woodford, go look at the other thread on this I called it as soon as people were freaking out. Why would he come back down to KY competition? Zero benefit from that, you push yourself to the max.

If he does though, Newport has to enter the season ranked 1 and the favorite to bring it home. Especially with the younger kids Lowe and Starks only gonna mature more and become more impact guys. Add in Carney who isn't super recruited or rated right this second but if you read about him is heralded as one of the top shooters in the country. Still only 2026, either way Newport is gonna be loaded. 4 D1 level type kids, with a couple of them gonna be power 5 kids. And obviously Tay has league potential!

I've heard it from numerous people but I live 10 minutes from Newport and haven't saw him play in anything summer wise, or seen him in any workouts.

AJ was definitely a pocket passer quarterback that was big and strong and could move. But he dropped back to pass, the other ones weren't nearly the polished passer so he has to find creative ways to use them. In his offense he wants a Point Guard at QB that can distribute it out all places, getting the ball to the playmakers. He adjust each offense to the guy running it but the idea is that. Queen in my opinion fits that mold better than any of them but just might not be developed enough physically. And elder is a whole different animal than anything over her, we are talking about one of the best programs in one of the best leagues in the country. GCL is a top 5-10 league in the country, they are playing big boy ball over there.

I think Queen is the future but Harney might be more ready for the job this year. Queen has the better body, arm strength and anticipation just from observation. I've heard Gaiser isn't gonna be in the QB decision.

I'm not totally sold on Jasper playing the season there. I'm of the understanding that's he's playing for OTE this coming year.

I heard he is playing OTE his senior season. Able to play summer ball for Woodford though which I don't totally get.

Most of the sites haven't updated since the major AAU and camp season. With the tryouts and selections he is garnering I think he's gonna rise. And that was once a true statement but between the 3SSB, EYBL, UA, a lot of the talent is balanced as of late. Sure there is probably more on the EYBL but it isn't a crazy drop off of competition or exposure in my opinion.

Of note he is an underclassmen in this event. It's 2025 and 2026 kids, so I imagine he's a lock to make the team next year.

Yes he is trying out. Also played in Adidas Eurocamp, only 20 or so high schoolers got selected. He is nationally a 5 star at this point!

He is surrounding himself with all the top guys to be successful! This is the list of people Brad has had last couple years. Allar was number 1 prospect in country on many sites, and now PSU starter. Grunkemeyer is his backup also a top 100 kid on the sites. And then you have Monty another top 100 kid who just committed to Georgia. Emmett wouldn't be training with these guys or Brad if he wasn't in that tier, just my opinion.

I think you have to ask that question for every first year starter at the varsity level, you don't know what you truly got into you jot them out there. Nobody said he was top in the country but at the middle school level and camping multiple recruiting outlets had him up in that group. When it comes to quarterbacking, yes he is above Cash and anyone else I have saw in the colonels backfield. The accuracy, arm strength, size, zip on the ball, this kid has trained all year round for years now to become a quarterback. It's not like the kid has never play the position before he was a stud from an early age through middle school why would it be any different against those same kids at the high school level? He trains with Brad Maendler year round one of the top QB trainers in the area. Brad has had a QB make the ELITE 11 3 out of the last 4 years and he believes Emmett is on that path.

Yeah I follow him closely, big OSU fan and his pops went there. Have followed him since his CYF days, also already has that Kentucky offer. And is camping at Michigan and Penn State this week, kid is a stud. I think they need to hand the keys over now, it'll be better for the team over the next couple years.

That's surprising they had a Quarterback of his stature on the freshman team, or were other factors in play? At one point in time he was regarded as one of the top 8th quarterbacks in the country.
