George Rogers Clark 52 Great Crossing 51

Featured Replies

This game was 17 to 1 after the first quarter, favor GRC.  Crossing never led, but had it tied a couple times in the 4th.

GRC is a very good team but seems like they are not performing up to last year’s state championship team caliber. I thought they had most of their key players back this year. Not inferring that Great Crossing should be an easy win by any means but a team of the Cardinals caliber at home should have won this game without too much stress.

Best team in the state and will prove that moving forward.

GRC lost their two guards from last season, one of them was very much a key player.  The Maxwell kid who is a starter was not available last night.  GRC is still a very solid team.

If you haven't seen the Great Crossing team go watch them, this team keeps getting better with experience.  How many teams can only score one point in a quarter and still only lose by 1 to GRC.

Don't tell Warren Central that.

I will take my chances with them, just my opinion.

CCH handled crossing a good ways better than GRC. I still think last year CCH guards would have been a tougher matchup for GRC than WC. This year even more so with their shot making and perimeter pressure. Colonels are right there with anyone, even dating back to last year who’s played consistently better?  Tough loss in semis and on a roll this year.

Don't forget, CCH struggled against Bracken County.

Give me GRC vs anyone.

I’ve got no problem at all with thinking George Rogers Clark is the best, though I think we’re already seeing the difficulties that come with being hunted, and why it is so tough to repeat. They’re quite good, they very well could do it. Right now I wouldn’t pit them ahead of any out of the CovCath, Warren Central, or LexCath group.

I think Warren Central has pretty much the same resume.

I’m surprised by the statement about a tougher matchup though. Ipsaro is the best player out of the group from last year or this one, but Central’s guard length is a pretty tough matchup for anyone they’ve come across. My lament from last year is a “what if” relating to that horrid draw. Central went through a murderer’s row and then had less rest than GRC for the finals to top it off. I would love to have seen if things could’ve been different with even the Saturday semi times flipped.

They didn’t struggle, up 17 at one point. Pretty sure 15ish in the 4th and won by 9. Fully in control of that game.

No doubt, the bottom bracket was loaded like no other. You take anyone of those top teams we mentioned and switched with GRC, you’d really wonder who would have done what. I don’t think it’s a coincidence now that the schedule is a little better(not by much) they are losing more.
