Lloyd Memorial 67 Simon Kenton 55

Featured Replies

Lloyd pretty much had their way the entire game, led by as many as 18.  Lloyd showed the Neers some defense of their own.

Both teams close out the week at Oldham County - Simon Kenton (15-8) on Friday; Lloyd (12-7) on Sunday.

Wow ?

Really not an upset, Lloyd is somewhat of a young team that is starting to play well.

Agreed. Lloyd may be one of the most talented teams in the area and it looks like they’re starting to put it together.

Very impressed with Lloyd.  Two ultra talented kids and some nice ancillary pieces.  They played great defense and run nice sets on offense.

I knew they had a ton of talent, but haven't got to watch them recently.

1-7 when giving up 55+ points. Not a recipe for success.

If Lloyd can get a consistent 3rd scorer I think they will make some noise in the region. You know what you get with Israel and Walker. Sebastian really played well tonight and Elijah Collins can sure shoot it.

I think only giving up over 55 points 8 games this season is a lot more impressive. You see a lot more low scoring games in the postseason, and the Pioneers seem to fare well in those games.

Some of the teams they “held” under 55 are also really really bad teams that might struggle to score 55 in a 6 quarter game.  Full disclosure, I’ve seen them play and just not a believer at all. but they could prove me wrong!

Went back and looked- the regional winners last 5 years all averaged in 60s in Henry over 3 games and in the championship game the winner scored 60 or more every single time. Some earlier round games were lower scoring- almost always involving Collins. But if you can’t score in the 60s, history says you aren’t winning the region.

I agree, I do not see them winning the region. But I do expect them to make some noise, and the earlier round games you mentioned proved that pont.

9th vs 8th is night and day honestly!
