LouHSJunkie Posted March 7, 2024 Author Posted March 7, 2024 Caden Miller 17 pts, Cash Harney 14 pts to lead Covington Catholic in a game much closer than anyone thought it would be.
Strawberrybarrow250 Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 That was not a good game by CCH players or their coaches. Better fix things fast or they will be getting eliminated Sunday. Give Dixie credit, never gave up and came back strong from that 40 point loss. On another note, all this time in between the end of the regular season, districts, region, and state is ridiculous. Hard for a high school kid to keep any rhythm when they play three games in over three weeks. For whoever makes state it will be four games in almost a month. 4
RedHawk Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Was Bradshaw injured? I wasn’t able to make this game unfortunately.
GoBucks97 Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Wasn't as close as score intends imo. Was a 10 point lead most of game, and around 14 entering 4th. Can definitely take lessons how to close the game. Was a 7 point lead with under a minute left and all kinds of things transpired. Think this was just one of those march endings and the blue colonels escaped. 1 1

Breds82 Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Dixie had the shot to win and it wasn’t that close? 3 1

Go read Evan Dennison who does an awesome job covering the area. He stated " in a game that never felt close" word for word!! CCH was up 7 with a minute left maybe some less, and up to that point the game felt in hand. Blue colonels then proceeded to miss several free throws and turn the ball over. Dixie also had a 5 point possession. So yes the game wasn't that close, maybe the final 30 seconds from CCH own doing.
Runcible Owl Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 📰 From the aforementioned article by the always great Evan Dennison ~ ... Cov Cath survives late scare from Dixie For about 31 minutes, Covington Catholic had the feel of never really being in danger. The last minute was a different story. "It's a wake-up call," (Coach) Ruthsatz said. "Especially for our guards who down the stretch turned the ball over and missed shots." Link to Evan's game recap, with interview snippets, box score, and more: 🔗 linknky.com/covington-catholic-dixie-heights-basketball Gritty game by the Red Colonels; survive and advance for the Blue ... 📝 This will be Cov Cath's 11th semifinals appearance in 13 years under Coach Scott Ruthsatz - Round 1 exits in '12 (New Cath) and '21 (St. Henry).

Catholic played on the 23rd, 28th, 1st, and the 6th. Then play on the 10th. Not sure what you mean? That's a Friday, Monday, Friday, and then a Wednesday. That's 4 games in 13 days. Count the 10th and the championship on the 12th that will be 6 games in 19 days. There is a gap in between the regional and state tournament but that is going to happen at least for one state tournament. Now, next year it will be a crazy gap.
Momofboyz Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 Cov Cath needs to go deeper on the bench. They aren’t utilizing all of their talents. You could tell those 5 starters were tired.
