Fortunately for Newport, this is not a beauty contest - 27% from the field and 12% from three. Kinney nearly made as many FTs as Ryle attempted.

You're not picking spouses this time a year you'll take a ugly win over a pretty loss all day long. I feel Newport may have got their clunker out of way and will be hard to beat.

Ugly. Very ugly. The last couple minutes were a lesson in how to lose a game by both teams.

Ryle out hustled the Cats the first half and even had them flustered (Snapp included) most of the 3rd quarter as well. Good teams find a way to win and that’s exactly what they did. Survive and advance.

Newport attacked the rim twice as much as Ryle, so that looks about right.

Snapp over reacting to calls is nothing new. He looked like a total buffoon during the Highlands game Friday night on a couple calls. One where the official had to call him back to the front of the bench. Newport is very good and can overcome games where they have poor shooting.

Thankfully Newport has 7 other assistant coaches. Snapp’s sideline antics were surely a distraction last night.
