10th Region: Week 2

Featured Replies

Week 2 brought another exciting round of 10th region basketball! It's evident that the future looks bright for the region, as we're witnessing a surge of young talent on the court. Many teams are featuring multiple freshmen who are making a big impact, while some 8th graders are also stepping up, and one team even has a 7th grader getting valuable playing time.

One standout player in the region is Tyce Jarvis from Montgomery County, who is making waves as a sophomore by averaging an impressive 20.2 points per game. His freshman teammate, Andrew Terry, is also contributing significantly with 11.8 points per game, showcasing the potential of this young duo.

In Alexandria, freshman Austin Davie is making a name for himself, ranking second in the region with an average of 19.6 points per game. Nicholas County's Peyton Hatton, another freshman, leads the Jackets with 13.3 points per game. Meanwhile, Mason County's sophomore Braeden Myrick is excelling with a scoring average of 19.2, and Calvary's Peyton Morris is not far behind, averaging 18.3 points per game.

The region is truly fortunate to have such a wealth of young talent. Sophomore JaZi Grayson from Pendleton County is averaging 14.3 points, while Montez Gay, also a sophomore at GRC, contributes 13.4 points per game. Be sure to catch some games in the coming weeks to witness these rising stars in action!

Do you think Maddox Hager, the recent transfer from Boyle County to GRC, will see any varsity action?  I saw that he's listed on their roster but I hadn't heard about his eligibility.

Nicholas County beat Augusta last week.

Starting to wonder the same. I have little info out of that part of the region.

I'm also wondering when/if Cayden Reed ever heard anything about his eligibility in Montgomery Co.

They sure did! Tightly contested game in their home gym. I think you could put these two and Brossart in any order in that area and have a chance at it shaking out right. Put them on a neutral floor and this is where I see things at the moment.

It was definitely a great in-region win for coach Morris. I hope he can keep the train rolling and make things interesting in the early rounds of the regional tournament!

Where do you see 10th region rankings currently?
