I think we'll all be surprised how quickly school districts make these kinds of situations disappear. It's a glaring light for now, but a week after the season is over, no one will think about it twice.

I'm on the opposite side... good, I'm glad he put the pressure on. The Bengals were showing no signs of EVER stepping into the 21st century way of business in regard to contract structure, etc. and this past week is a step in the right direction.

2 weeks of games and then come back and finish getting up to game speed. Yeah, they could have been throwing already, etc. but they won't be game-ready. I also think about the coaches. What a miserable spot to be in. Were the basketball kids able to get through a full tryout? Do you start your season short-handed? Do you keep extra kids just because it'll be a while before basketball gets out? If they weren't able to tryout, how do you look at a kid and tell them they're cut when other kids still have yet to try out?

The one bonus in the next couple of years is that coaches coming from the college ranks to the pros usually have a really good grasp on the draft for a year or two since they had been at that level to recruit and scout that talent. Hoping Al Golden is able to put in the word for a great defensive draft!

The time has finally come for the 10th region to conclude their tournament. While there have been scheduling issues with Rupp Arena, it is essential for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association to improve its planning to avoid these problems in the future. Athletes faced long breaks, sometimes waiting a week or more between games. As spring sports start, with baseball teams throwing their first pitches, athletes who primarily focus on baseball or track may still be waiting for basketball season to end. This situation is concerning and needs to be addressed this off-season, IMO. Regarding the games, I believe the semi-final matchups tonight are quite predictable. Montgomery is likely to defeat Mason County with relative ease, while Nicholas County's impressive season will come to a close at the hands of GRC. This scenario sets the stage for the highly anticipated rematch between Montgomery County and GRC, a matchup that has generated excitement throughout the 10th region. Their previous two encounters were thrilling contests, with each team securing a victory. While the extended break may prove disadvantageous for Montgomery County, which has been performing at an exceptional level, I believe the Indians will ultimately prevail in another closely contested game. Anyone making the trip down that can provide feedback?

No. What was deleted was a bunch of old guys hating on a kid/young man in the comments of about a dozen posts. Nothing more than what’s been posted already. Fell out of favor with the coach during the year and playing time dropped significantly. In the today’s landscape, why stay and not play?

I agree completely, it just cracks me up that it's acceptable when not from Cal. Also reinforces how sure it is that his time here had come to an end and everything has an expiration date.

UK fans (and I am one) are cracking me up today. This group complained (myself included) about Cal's comments on the conference tournament meaning nothing, but today my timeline is littered with fans talking about sitting Butler until the NCAA tourney and sitting other players who have aches and pains because tonight doesn't mean anything lol.

He has a wife established in her career in NKY and kids rooted in NKY now and didn't back then. As far as it needing to be a quality job in NKY, is Scott County that top tier quality of a job to make it worth moving your family for? Freddie D and Great Crossing aren't going anywhere anytime soon, they haven't had a winning record (or close) since the spring of 2020, and they just ran off a coach in one year. Maybe Scott County is where he ends up, but I wouldn't think so. He can finish 10 games under .500 and struggle to be a top school in his teams region without moving his family.

I think the Sully to Scott Co. talk is all nonsense. As mentioned, he's well established in NKY area and has kids with roots here. He also has a wife with a career well established in this area. I've heard rumblings of a job that may open in a local school district that I think would make a whole lot more sense for him to go to. I won't put that one out there as there has been no official movement to this point.

I think MoCo looking ahead could make this a closer game, but talent wins out more times than not and Mason Co. doesn't have the Jimmy's, Joe's or Cayden's to make that happen this year.

I wouldn't to Metcalfe. He's a freak, but also been a cancer at times. I can go draft physical freaks that cost a lot less and come with baggage. For Tee, I'm with Guru. He's a dynamic game changer when he plays... but that's my issue... when he plays. Play a full season and I'll consider your 30. Until then I'll put that money in 2-3 guys that play more than 65% of the time.

Trey is hitting the wrong side of 30 to give a huge deal to for that position. I'm fine with letting him play out the deal and get his big pay day elsewhere.

This sounds like a miserable no win situation for any father, but as far as timelines he references, many times in schools, a "____ day timeline" only encompasses days that the school district is in session. Weekend days do not count, holidays do not, snow days do not. I wonder if that's what this fell into. I know nothing about Boone County's school system so it's possible it did not fall into that.

At the time it seemed that he was drafted to be the traditional tight end, but when someone of Bowers talent is there you take it and adjust your scheme. Combine that with the fact that Brady was in the owners ear and you take the huge, uber athletic, game changing tight end.

I don't think that the football coach should be in danger of losing his job, but being AD doesn't protect you from losing that gig. Actually, in today's world, it may put you at MORE risk of it. Also, as Sullivan's situation has proven, a successful season has very little to do with retaining a coaching position at Cooper.
