16thBBall Fan Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Final. A lucky win but survive and advance to take on the Crimson Tide tomorrow night at 9:30pm. 1
Randy Parker Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 It's a win, which is what matters. But what a horrible meltdown at the end.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 14, 2025 Author Posted March 14, 2025 The replay that was a very difficult shot! They tried to double, good call to get him the ball for the win but needed to call a timeout as soon as we got the ball in the corner either time. A lucky win! A lot of Nashville businesses were happy with that Kentucky win. lol

Truthfully, can’t believe Kentucky didn’t take a timeout on both of those turnovers. Oklahoma is tough and never quit. Fears looks like a lottery pick to me. 1
futurecoach Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 That got a lot more interesting than it needed to be at the end. However, I love that they found a way to win, which is all that matters! Now with that said, even if Butler can go tomorrow. I hope Pope doesn’t play him in anymore games this SEC tournament. At the end of the day as much as fans won’t want to admit it, this tournament doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Go out and try to win still, but no reason to even risk Butler playing even if he is feeling better tomorrow. We seen at the end just now, how important it would be to have a true pg at the end of the game. I much rather him rest, and hopefully be ready for the tournament that starts next week. 2
Jumper_Dad Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Cats won, that's all that matters. With Oklahoma having no timeouts left I get not wanting to call a timeout to give them a chance to set defense on last shot. Oweh doesn't have elite handles, he generally has a few ball handling turnovers a game. Fortunately he was strong with the ball that last drive. 2

Maybe on the Carr play where he had three guys around him but I don't know where else you call a timeout. Even on the Carr play, he has to be stronger with the ball and make the refs call the foul as they hack him. An 80% free throw shooter so he is a player UK likes at the line. 2

No way Butler should play again till the NCAA opener. UK is a 3 or 4 seed no matter what happens in the SEC games. 2
Jumper_Dad Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Pope sounding like Butler may be done, said he would be praying that Butler could play again this year.
Oldercoach Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 ESPN said it was a right shoulder injury. Was that just a typo, or mistake?
Oldercoach Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Williams was an invisible no-show in this game. What was going on with him?

The Carr play is where, although it looked like Carr might have been trying to make a "timeout" signal and lost the ball in the process. That said, I'd probably have taken one after Williams threw that horrible cross court bounce pass that got stolen. 1

UK is a 3 or 4 seed no matter what happens in the SEC games. I think getting the win last night makes them a solid 3 seed now, unless news comes out about Butler being out for the year. If that happens, they could possibly move them down to a 4 seed. As we have seen the committee will change seeding for a team based off injuries. I think the may have had a slight outside shot at getting a 2 seed if they could have beat Bama today. As in the latest projections they had UK as the top 3 seed, but there is zero reason to play Butler. So chances of winning today are slim, hopefully get him back healthy and get the 3 seed and see what you can.
bugatti Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Send Butler home. Heck, send the whole team home.
