Does this bring into question if this is parent only banter or has made it down to the players. Knowing that the kids read this, I have to agree that talking only about your kid or attempting to not compare/compare him to another player doesn't help anyone. I think this will make the District tournament interesting if the turmoil bleeds over into the team. Could be a wildcat year??

Walter is a good kid but even listed at 6'10 he will be a quick pass shoot kid. Last time I've seen him he didn't have much if inside game. Unless this summer was really good to him he has going to have to learn to play the 5. Just being tall won't make him successful. Will be fun to see how far he has come.

Sounds like its all about the mighty dollar. If they split it out based on levels they loose money.. The only thing worse would be someone trying to do this in basketball.

Was told 31 point in 1st half and was very unselfish 2nd half. Sounds like it's going to be a good season for him.

Someone said this before, knowing the kids all read this everyday as we do, why are we not doing a thread for all kids from KY that are playing basketball versus just the D1 kids? Playing basketball in college at any level to me is impressive. I have to say, this was a new thought to me being that I had some guys on here changed my mind in this thinking D1 was the only thing that mattered. Just my 2 cents..

Should make for a much more interesting District Tournament this year. Shouldn't be such an easy walk for NewCath this year. Should be exciting! :ylsuper:

There is a difference between being influenced and being told that if your daughter wants to play for us during HS they must play for my club. I guess the sad thing is that this may be the only way for certain clubs to advance is to take from the best. If these teams end up playing at AAU nationals or JO Nationals at the end of June look for KHSAA violations to occur when you have HS coaches on the sidelines coaching his own HS girls from his highschool during the dead period. Maybe when the HS teams in the state start getting penalized for doing this parents will speak out. Parents should have the right to choose who their child plays for during the club season.

Hypothetically if I was talking about a volleyball club in the area and hypothetically a handful of players left the another club they were playing for since they were little to move to the new club due to a coach of a certain high school was on the staff of another club. Hypothetically if I had a parent tell me directly that was why they were leaving so they would make the school team the next season. Would there be ethical issues with a high school coach doing this to players and families. Hypothetically of course.

Hypothetical, could a HS coach dictate where their players are permitted to play a club or select sport if they want to play HS for them during the school year?

Ok what felt like a mile to me was closer to a half mile. Over in the Town Center. Its easy to claim walking is no problem but when your walking with back issues then that is a problem. As far as Dixie having enough parking an hosting two big events like that then you must have had a close spot because they were parked at K-Mart, the town center with me and in the neighborhood next to Dixie. I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean they have enough parking to host two things at once. Also, I applaud the band for moving their practice for the other events. I'm over it...

Almost a mile is a little far, don't you agree? OK the question comment isn't a slam on Dixie being that a couple people have already commented this had happened at other sites. I watched people coming into the game well after it started and those sitting around me stated they had been looking for parking forever. I would imagine the VB crowd was the same way. Also, I've seen on one day at Dixie a baseball game and a track meet. Yet again a parking issue. They have probably one of the best facilities in NKY, but sometime you can't do everything. I'm just saying that if you are going to hold big events like that in the same night then you need to have the parking to hold it. I'm guessing this is one reason that baseball holds regionals at Florence Freedom, no worry about parking.

As I make the long walk to Dixie to watch the match I realize that there also is the District Volleyball finals tonight. Does anyone plan this out. How do you host two of the biggest events on one night at one school. Sorry this is bad planning. Knowing the KHSAA creates a schedule of when everyone host everything, do they not look at what else is going on at that school. Does the AD not look at it and try to stagger this out. Ok, I'm not tired anymore so I'll stop. :-)

Agree totally but unfortunately does not being flashy get you Mr Basketball in Ky. Hope it does.

That's really a fun duo to watch.

Dixie's problem has always been not having a complete team of dedicated girls. Coach Long is a really nice coach but unfortunately unless he can get a core group year after year that want to work hard it's an uphill battle for him. At the high school level you can beat good teams with a few solid players. VB is very much a team sport where you need everyone involved all the time. Best of luck to Coach Long.

Disagree. Two different type of players. CVH is just a better all around player than McNeil. Don't get me wrong, McNeil is a very nice player. Just my opinion.

Can anyone confirm one was seen flying over houses in Cold Spring?

I'm having trouble how CCH wouldn't enroll him as a Jr. but NCC would, if he a Jr. Both are very very good schools and I don't see two schools making different decisions about one kid. Also, knowing how M. Clines from the Diocesan likes to involve himself into things, I'm sure he had some say in this. That's just a guess on my part.

It's all good. The fact he is going there will only make things more interesting on here. Has he been attending any open gyms this summer that would give us an idea that he may play this year?

Sorry Bully you were given wrong information because based on pictures on FB for the 1st day of school at NCC it has him walking down the hallway. He appears to going to NCC, so now the question will be if he plays.

Understand, I guess I look at high d1 schools like UK, Florida and not sure I see him playing there. But then I see Bolden going to WV this year and Snider at UL, and I can see Cole going against them. Just maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Still like the kid and looking forward to watching him play agin this year. Based on highlight film above the kid continues to be working to get better.
