If I heard correctly the 9th Region is on its 4th basketball assignor in about the same years. I've been to a bunch of games (girls/boys) myself and I have to say I've started seeing new faces that I'm not used to seeing. Can anyone confirm that? And if so, what changes is everyone else seeing?

Besides NCC's game mention above, does anyone know when the next games (times) are to be played?

I think it was the first step in the mental tactics which worked because it got in their heads. Not saying it was right/wrong but for me it wasn't what I expected to see from CCH.

I've been to over a handful tournaments this year and last and I always see players walking out with pizza or some sort of food in their hands. Sound like the tournament organizers need to reevaluate things next year or they will start losing teams.

Got more details on my comment last night. Talked with a cch parent this morning and it was all part of the plan to get in the Breds heads last night and it worked. From not giving giving the fist bumps to each player before the game, talking to them the entire game, to reaching, grabbing or whatever until the refs started calling it. The T was just confirmation that they were doing their jobs but the refs were catching on. Plan accomplished...

There was talk in the stands of kids talking trash but I couldn't catch if it was NCC or CCH kids doing it.

What was the T on the CCH kid thrown for after the foul?

Reminds me of last year's regional tournament. NCC struggles to make free throws and Cov Cath plays solid defense.

Based on their recent Boone performance I have to go with the Camels +5. I hope the Scott starters show up to play tonight because if they do I'll retract my prediction.

Hemmerich 5 9 19 Not a bad stat line. Is 'one of' Conner's issues that they don't have another big scorer to help Hemmerich out?

I think one of the biggest problem with AAU ball is EVERYONE is playing AAU ball. I mean, people sell your kids on the fact that your son/daughter is going to be on an AAU team when in reality all it comes down to playing on select recreation team in a select recreation league. I agree with what he is saying and I do feel that certain AAU programs do try and develop players. Where you have coaches that actually coach. They are hard to find, but they are out there. But I say that with a flip side. I too have a relative who son/daughter is playing what they call "AAU" basketball. The coaches are not coaching, they only play in these leagues that are at these multi-basketball court facilities. Is that really AAU? I truly believe that all coaches need to get back to the time when fundamentals need to be taught and at a very young age. (Hoosiers - 5 passes before you shoo) To many parents I know think their kids are all that but when I ask how they handle the ball they say "OK, but they shoot well". Or I ask if little Johnny an go to his left hand and they don't know what to say. Changes need to be made. If its going to take an NBA players influence to help make those changes. I stand a 100% behind him. Soap box off...

So if I'm understanding this one: 15U/9th Grade: An athlete can be no older than 15 on August 31, 2015. Grade Exception: An athlete who is in the 9th grade as of Oct 1, 2014 and who is no older than 16 on August 31, 2015 is eligible to play in the 15U/9th grade division A kid that turns 17 on Sept 1st are eligible to play 15s? Nice to know AAU is trying to make it fair for kids to play against like talent.. When you go and watch these high school games its noticeable when when you play a team full of men versus a team of boys that still look like they should be in HS. If I have a 15 year old son and little (BIG) Johnny that's 17 wants to play against him so that he can dominate the age level, good for him. As long as my son is hanging with that 17 year old I realize he still has 2 additional years of developing to do before he turns 17.

Did I hear a new coach has been named? Could they have named both their new soccer coach and volleyball coach at the same time?

Congrats Cole, That a big accomplishment in itself, but bigger as a Sophomore.

Wow, seemed like he was at the line a lot more. Must have been thinking of the vet Louis game I saw him play.

Weyer was just on fire. Would love to know how he compares to others in getting to the foul line. He has made it an art. What I enjoyed was how he always put himself in the right spot for multiple second chance buckets. Breds were just to much for Snapp. While 16 points isn't a bad night, the kid just couldn't get into any rhythm.

Sounds like it would have been a fun game to see.
