Wow!!!. I didn't think this was possible at all.

CovCath takes the battle of the Papists. Glad I used this one in the contest; I think 18 entries had NCC and 9 had CC. Not an even split but not overwhelmingly one way or the other.

 

And speaking of the contest, tonight's 4 games are complete. Three of our contestants are 0 for 4.

 

Sadly but predictably, Randy Parker is one of them.

I will say they are a pretty good team, but their 3 losses to KY teams have all been by double digits, so I am not 100% convinced of that.

How good were the coach R. adjustments through the game? One big reason why I like watching CCH play is to see how Ruthsatz will adjust and his players know just how to handle situations. Pretty cool! Heck of a coach. Good team.

Really tight game until Pangallo went out with a cramp and CCH got some separation. Flood was really good and Cole made some big plays in the 4th to secure the win...

If you get out hustled and out muscled that badly, then you don't deserve to win. CovCath's earlier games in the GCL really paid off. They were able to really use their hands in the 1st quarter and it really paid off. The 50/50 call on Weyer for the charge was huge bc it would have been 2 on Shuh. Instead Weyer picks his second up a little later and misses the whole 2nd quarter. Just pull up and hit the bank shot. He didn't and the decision went against him. NewCath's bench played really well. Anderson kept them in it during the 1st half. Next game, NewCath has to establish the post on offense. They did not have an offensive presence down there for the first 10 minutes.

Good news for both teams.

 

Both teams can play better in the rematch. Both had one of their studs sit out a lot in the first half with two fouls and not many points.

 

I'd love to see a rematch. Great environment with the top two programs in the 9th. Great fan support. Students were great. Rivalry is alive and well which just adds to it.

 

Even if that was the ONLY game of the night it was well worth the $4 parking and the $5 dog.
