I guess that is my question? Is High D1 schools like UK, UC, Xavier or are they at another level. Just my ignorance of the how levels are understood. Explain?

Basing solely on last years HS season, did he make some big advancements this summer. Taking nothing away from his talent on the court, I'm a big fan of this you man. I'm wondering if he is high d1 player as someone mentioned? This is of course is if I don't understand how many levels there are per say in D1 (low, medium, high, elite??)

Not sure who you have been talking to because I've heard the opposite. You go from a staff that know volleyball really well to the new staff that doesn't. I believe it was said the new JV coach has never coached before. Heck the previous HC must know something if she is on a college staff now. Remember you don't have to always like your coach. I know a lot of coaches that if you ask players if they liked their coach when they played for them they would say no, but you ask them after they graduate they understand now why they did what they did and they respect them more. I'll take hard coaches that know the game than any new coach who got the job by default and a staff of inexperienced assistants. Sorry Bandit, I believe you are talking to the wrong ppl.

I can understand your sentiments but this goes back to the conversation earlier. Had she been given the job because she earned it there would be no questions. I'll say it again, I feel bad for the girls that this happened this way and they aren't getting the most qualified coach for the job.

SK, and I just heard it from one the players parent that the coach gave an 8th grader a paper Friday that said she was on Varsity. When she came into practice on Monday she told her she was wrong and she only made the freshman team. The parent said the girl was in tears... Feel sorry for the girls..

While 3 years may be a lot with fundamentals, I've seen girls catch up pretty quickly. Fortunately/unfortunately to do this it takes time and money. If you get your daughter in the right programs that can over her training I'm sure she can get caught up faster than you think. Repetition with doing things properly will give her the most results. Just passing on what someone told me. I didn't know if you taught at the school you must give it to the interested teacher first. I was told they were told that and had no choice but to give it to her. I could post who told me if you tell me your name first. I won't tell. :-)

i saw a similar post in a football thread and thought it would be good to hear from some that has gone through the process. I'm looking for ideas of what parents should be looking to do for their son's that are going to be freshman, sophomores or juniors. Where should we (parents) start?

Doesn't Ryle baseball run two freshmen teams? One consisting of 8th graders and the other freshman. I'm guessing they split the total number of games allowed. Would that work in basketball?

Someone just PM'ed me and said I don't have the whole story. Sounds like she forced the hand of SK admin. Looks like they may have a full new staff of coaches because the ones from last year won't come back. Could make for an interesting season for the seniors. Good luck girls.

I just saw on Twitter that there is a new VB coach at SK? Dana Hacker? Big shoes to fill after last head coach left. Anyone know anything about her and will this help keep SK playing at the level they have?

Makes sense. I think the problem is you can't get away from possible fields with turf for Regionals unless you go back to HS fields. NKU now has a turn infield. Thomas More?? But no seating. Has anyone else been throwing any ideas out?

Could Regionals possible be played there? Will they have the seating? Would next year be the year they get away from Florence Freedom?
