Now that all of the District games have been completed, lets analyze how this thing can go for each of the teams participating. It is my understanding that the winners and losers are as follows:

 

Winners: Ryle, Dixie, Beechwood, Highlands

Losers: Boone Co., St. Henry, CovCath, NewCath

 

IMO the best route for Highlands would be St. Henry in round 1, winner of Ryle/CovCath in semis and Beechwood in finals. If this scenario played out, who would Ryle, CovCath and Beechwood possibly have to pitch in those games?

 

Interested in hearing what others have to say about "their" team in the tourney.

As usual, three of the four #2 seeds are quite dangerous in round 1. I don't include St. Henry because I don't believe they have a #1 pitcher that can beat any of the #1 seeds.

Boone County is the number 2 seed that I think has the best pitcher to match up and pull an upset in round one.

True but I think, as a team, with their number one on the mound Boone is very very good.

I would agree that whoever draws St. Henry will have an advantage (no disrepect intended). Any other #2 would require a very good pitcher. After yesterdays performance against CCH, I would love to see Combs pitch against Highlands in the final. He is dialed in.

If Highlands doesn't draw CCH first round, I will be shocked. I think HHS's best chance is to see Beechwood in the semi's. Which would then put a possible HHS/CCH as final. Of course there are 5 other teams that will have their say. That's just my say!

I am looking forward to watching regional baseball at Florence Freedom. It has become a Memorial Day tradition for me.

Whats going to happen if the rain comes as expected. Could make for a really bad Memorial Day this year. Looking forward to seeing some baseball.
