Open Job: Conner
Sounds like he is suggesting Sullivan is leaving Cooper for Conner.

Open Job: Newport Central Catholic
Who was their JV Coach this year?
-
Open Job: Grant County
Out of curiosity, why would you guess that?
-
Yamil Rondon to Newport
I wondered that too, but I doubt that warrants a 365 day ban.

Open Job: Beechwood
Yeah, I've heard a few. Not sure how likely some of them are. Don't want to throw the names out here, but it appears there are multiple people interested, which is good news for the school and program.

Open Job: Holmes
Why would he want it and would he make that much of a difference?

Coronavirus
It is weird when you see memories on facebook this time of year when the virus was starting to impact all of our lives. Just looking at comments and events taking place, expecting it to last only 3 or 4 months, hoping for a normal MLB season, and so on. Hard to believe its been 4 years.

Open Job: Williamstown
Sorry to hear this. He was exactly what Williamstown needed.

Open Job: Beechwood
We'll probably see him on the sidelines again. He's a good guy and a good coach.

Newport 46 Cooper 39 (9th Region Championship)
I agree, except they called two fouls on Cooper's point guard in the first 90 seconds.

Most Suitable High School Gyms that are NOT Regional Host Sites
Carroll County is big enough with ample parking. Not nearly as good as Henry county though.

Cooper 55 Covington Catholic 36 (9th Region semifinals)
He was definitely the best player on Cov Cath's squad last night. As far as the court goes, I think I'd give the nod to Rondon. It seemed like the Colonels put several different players on him and he still beat them off the dribble. I loved how he read the floor and read screens. I think two big possessions of the game were the last 3 seconds of the 1st and 3rd Quarters. If memory serves me correctly, Cooper scored on OB plays each time.

Cooper 55 Covington Catholic 36 (9th Region semifinals)
Rondon was far and away the best player on the floor today. I knew he was good, but it seemed like he was absolutely toying with defenders. I hope he is able to play Tuesday, that is a definite game changer.

Newport 60 Lloyd Memorial 29 (9th Region semifinals)
I think about 6 of those 29 were scored by the JV. Kind of an anticlimactic atmosphere.

Covington Catholic vs. Cooper Predictions/Updates (9th Region Semifinals)
You could probably remove the "N" and still be on the right track.

Highlands vs. Newport Updates/Predictions (Finals of 36th District Tournament)

Highlands 90 Newport Central Catholic 85 (2OT) (36th District Semi-Finals)
I do not know the intricacies of the new rule, but in the past, if the ball is still in the hands of the "inbounder" or the player standing out of bounds, then there is no offense or defense. In the past, I am almost positive that bonus free throws were awarded for an illegal screen or push off in those situations. That is why a player can stand in the lane for 4 or 5 seconds.

Beechwood 40 Covington Holy Cross 36 (35th District Semifinals)
Well... since you brought it up. When the teams got back to the locker room, Ken Ellis (Covington's AD) went over to our student section and started motioning the kids to exit immediately. Then he started pointing to the door for all fans, including parents to leave. I thought this was rather odd because it was a relatively calm atmosphere, the crowds were not yelling at each other, there was no dirty play during the game, or technical fouls/warning given. IT was a hard, clean game. Apparently there was a skirmish between two players of the Holy Cross cheerleading team, not sure if it was a fight or not. As for the game, HC played a man-to-man defense the first half that smothered Beechwood. The Tigers could not get any open looks at all. 2nd Half, they switched to a zone defense for some reason and Beechwood got more open looks. The Indians only scored 12 points in the second half. The last 2 minutes, Beechwood hit a lot of free throws and HC struggled from the line.

The Lady Tigers bested the Lady Demons last night. 8th Grade guard Gia Jones scored her 70th 3-pointer of the season which is a Beechwood record. Congratulations!

District tournament play Begins Sunday!
I'm with you. The last week of the regular season is the worst of the year, then the following 2 weeks are the best 2 weeks of the school year.

Winter to return to Kentucky
I must admit, I am not the best at reading your maps. In fact, without you to interpret, I would be studying the, for hours before reaching a conclusion. It appears though that if any part of Ky receives snow, it will be north of Lexington?

Walton Verona 73 Grant County 70
I liked it better when these teams played each other two times a season.

The Chosen
Just got back from seeing Season 4 episodes 1-3 at the Florence Cinemark. I recommend giving it a watch.

Simon Kenton 58 Grant County 39
SK by 12 with 2 minutes left. The referees are really showing there inexperience. After a couple of technical fouls they conferenced at mid court for about eight or nine minutes before deciding what to do.
