So, the starters are full contact against the underclassmen,( non starters.)? Thought that didn't happen anymore at HHS practices? I guess the poster who said that didn't happen anymore was wrong. Still having problems with my PTSD from my days at HHS practices. (LOL)

How many practices did you watch in the early 70's? I haven't seen a Highlands practice in quite a while, may stop by this year and see what has changed. :thumb:

Believe it or not, 40 something years ago I was getting my brains beat in at practice.Two a day practices in August with no water breaks, and all the salt tablets you could eat. My, how times have changed. I was not a starter and I promise you that I was the one being abused at practice, by the bigger,faster,better player. Highlands didn't start practicing starters on starters until Dale implemented the platoon system, until then they didn't have the numbers or talent to do that. I think Dale started the platoon system around 08 or 09,when Collinsworth, Bardo and Roller were starting as Sophomores.

Seriously, why all the talk about cutting kids at this time. Did HHS lay off some assistant coaches? Are they expecting a bigger turn out for the team than the previous years. What's up? It couldn't be travel expenses, most of the regular season is with local teams. I'm sure that coach W is more like Dale than Duffy. The so called extra kids that just want to be part of the program, are the ones getting their brains beat in everyday at practice by the starters. They do the same training as the starters do on the field while thy are doing conditioning drills. Some kids are just better players, that's life. I wasn't a starter, but I sure thought that I earned a place on the team even if it was just paying on special teams. If Duffy was my coach, I would have been cut, not because of my effort, but because of my lack of talent. So be it.

Do you know who the starters will be? I don't think the coaches know yet. HHS has some talented sophomore players that will be competing for starting jobs. From what I hear, even the QB starting job is up for grabs. Should be interesting to see how this team progresses.

You got the other links for SK vs HHS games? A little bit of selective viewing on your part. You must get tired of watching this same game over and over, but it's ok, we enjoy watching the other 25 games between these two. :lol2:

Should be a great center piece for the already crowded trophy case. What a great honor for all involved at Highlands High School. Couldn't be happier for Mr. Marty Moore.

I was hoping the Florida Gators would make Jared an offer. Watched a lot Florida games this year and can't recall their kicker putting any in the end zone.

Agree!! Anytime a KY team finishes high in a national poll, it's a great thing. With Trinity playing that "monster" out of state schedule a few years back and Highlands taking on a runner up state title 8A team from Florida, along with some GCL Ohio schools, and Male and BG playing great football, is anyone out of state taking notice? IF not, should they be? Again, congrats to Male!!!

Ft. Thomas independent School district rank in KY. Highlands High School 99 percentile Johnson grade school 99 percentile Moyer grade school 98 percentile Woodfill grade school 96 percentile Why wouldn't you want to send your children to Ft. Thomas schools? I think they might play a little football up there too. :idunno:

Colerain, Cincy St. X, Trotwood Madison, Lou. St. X, Trinity, Moeller, Elder are just a few that Highlands has played in the last decade. Won some and lost some, while a few were nationally ranked in the top 25 in the nation. A couple of loses to BG isn't going to send Highlands back to 4A, ask anyone "close to the program."

Comical to say the least. :lol2: Highlands going back to 4A to win state titles? Highlands worrying about Trinity's state titles? The bolded made me spit out my drink. Highlands plays up more often than not, and definitely doesn't bounce around solely for the purpose of winning state titles. Ask your friend how many state titles Highlands would have over the last 100 years, if Highlands had played in the class that they belonged in, instead of playing up a class or two. One more thing, Highlands doesn't hate Trinity. (heard this somewhere) This person you have close to the program doesn't know much about Highlands football. :lol2:

Highlands website and team sports 1 says they will have the game starting @ 3. I know it will be audio for sure. Might get video also because they usually they put "audio only" when that is the case, and it's not there. Don't let my post stop you from going to the game.

I understand your post perfectly. What you think and what will happen may be totally different. Hope your wrong. Are you an expert on Pulaski and Highlands football? If you haven't seen either one lately, you may want to do some research. Remember, these kids are in HS so anything can happen. Hope they all play great with no injuries.

Confidence is a wonderful thing.

The last three years they haven't been to Ft. Thomas. A little different than most play off atmospheres. One thing about the people of the fort. They will treat you and your team with the utmost respect. You can also walk through the city without any problems after parking on one of the side streets. Very classy city with classy players and coaches. Win or lose the Birds do it with class. Will both gates be open for admission because of the construction? Last time I was there you could only enter through the north end. I hope PC has a safe trip to and from the game!
