It wasn't that long ago somebody with Purple in their user name predicted strongly that Greenwood would put a running clock on the Birds. Has something changed at Greenwood that would effect that prediction? I don't think a long drive would make a 35 point difference.
Got any info on Greenwood that you can share? Not much chatter on BGP about this team.
Aaron got it done again. He should buy his O-line coach something special. What a difference between the first half and second half. Nice catch by the WR on the fade on the game winning TD.
Things I took from this game.
Jerry Jones left the building, but nobody has that on film since the "boys" lost.
Jason Garrett looked like my 2year old that just pooped his pants. He just coached the worst game of his life.
Elliots excuse is that he has convict problems. After the game it was noted that Elliot lost his spoon and couldn't find it.
Highlands will play up like always, unless KHSAA tells them otherwise. They can't play down and would not even consider it. They belong in 4A, but I can't see that happening either. I would be shocked to see them in 4A again. (JMO)
Anybody notice number 72 over center on D on the last play? He was 6'3 and 330 pounds and played center on O all night. Ryle wasn't going to push that guy around.
Kudos to Ryle, great effort.
The history of Highlands football is over 100 years. Having the 2nd most wins in the country, people are familiar with the Birds. Take a look at the out of state opponents and see how well the Birds have done over the years.
HHS might be at a normal football level now, but over the decades, they have been the cream of the crop.
Serious question here. This is the second year of a two year contract? I wonder what next years schedule will look like. I would be totally SHOCKED if Highlands is even thinking about dropping down a class. What kind of message would that send to EVERYBODY involved in high school football across the state and the country?
I believe coaching is part of the problem. How big a part, I really don't know.
I guess everybody has their own definition of toughness.
Mine is having Sophomores forced into varsity action because of injuries, knowing they have little to no experience under the Friday night lights. The underclassmen need to do their best, that's all we ask. No pressure.
Oh, I almost forgot, number of state titles. Got any?
