The Fern Creek Tigers have had one of, if not their best season in school history. Finally out of the Big Shadow of traditionally dominant 6A Jefferson County Powers and basking in the Light of 5A football. The Tigers seem to have taken John Hardins old spot in Region 2 of 5A. Fern Creek features excellent speed and skill players and a stout defense the held 2A Power Desales scoreless earlier in the year. But this team is led by WKU signee Lamarius Kinslow who is a real talent. He plays LB and TE and is outstanding at both. He caught 2 TD passes last week. They will come to BG with supreme confidence only having lost to 6A formidible foe Manual.

The Bowling Green Purples come into this game riding high after getting a substantial win at BGP #3 Owensboro. Jamale Caruthers, Deangelo Wilson, and QB Clark Payne were very good last week, but it was the BG D that stood strongest last week holding the vaunted Red Devil rushing attack out of the end zone with 3 drives inside the BG 5 in the first quarter.

What about this game? Who ya got and why?

I may be one of the few, but I'm not so sure that this game will be as competitive as people may think. Especially after last night against Owensboro. Gonna take a bold prediction. I could easily be wrong!

You're not.

I don't know anything about Fern Creek other than @Ram and @theguru saying they are good. I say BG takes this one and heads down the road to WKU.

Give me BG easy.

I think the Purples win this one 28-7. Their offense is balanced, their defense is clicking on all cylinders, and they have one of the best coaching staffs in the state. Love'em or hate'em, they're pretty darn good!

My guess is Purples Defense does not play as good this upcoming week but offense plays better this upcoming week.

Lots of Alumni will be at Thanksgiving night practice to keep motivation up and egos in check.

Hopefully, weather will behave.

This game was the limit of my prediction for Fern Creek. If you remember, I said Fern Creek was going to make it to the Semi-Finals to play Bowling Green, then I shut up. This game is going to be a good one, no prediction for a winner from me.

But, if I were Bowling Green, I would be thinking "Graves County".

No doubt. I hope they are focused on the task at hand.

If they have corners who are 6-2 and physical they might be able to handle Kinslow. I was at the game Friday and what the stats don't tell you is the 60+ yard TOUCHDOWN that was called back and the 40+ yard screen that was also. You could easily add another 100 yards and another TOUCHDOWN to Kinslow's Stats. For whatever reason Fern Creek didn't get him involved in the first half due to the running game (#23 had over 100 yards rushing the first quarter). They will need to be up and physical if they want to stop him.

I don't know anything about Bowling Green but I'll take Fern Creek +28 any day. :-)

Eventhough it could happen, I don't see him causing Bowling Green a problem. The secondary is the staple of this Bowling Green team, IMO. They've combined for 23 interceptions on the season (Boards with 8) and combined have around 500 yards and 6 touchdowns off of those picks (Maxpreps). This might be the best coverage I've seen at Bowling Green in a while. And best individual play by Tre Fant since his coach, Demont Franklin.

I would love to see Fern Creek win this. However, is see BG winning easily

Purples cruise to the state finals comfortably.
