If they have corners who are 6-2 and physical they might be able to handle Kinslow. I was at the game Friday and what the stats don't tell you is the 60+ yard TOUCHDOWN that was called back and the 40+ yard screen that was also. You could easily add another 100 yards and another TOUCHDOWN to Kinslow's Stats. For whatever reason Fern Creek didn't get him involved in the first half due to the running game (#23 had over 100 yards rushing the first quarter). They will need to be up and physical if they want to stop him.

I don't know anything about Bowling Green but I'll take Fern Creek +28 any day. :-)

 

I was at the game also Friday. Kinslow is a tremendous talent. It seemed Fern Creek was happy just running in the first half. The few times they did try to pass were not successful. No disrespect intended but the Fern Creek pass offense is not that good. In the second half the pass down field that was completed for a TD was just a heave it downfield throw that Kinslow had to come back to get and out muscled the DB. He caught a TD on a fade thrown up high and he went up and got it (good play). The TD called back was offensive pass interference on another pass he had to try and come back and get. On the WR screen the motion man was running toward the line and to the DB well before the snap. The two calls were correct and helped complete the passes/get him downfield. If Fern Creek is to win they will need the continued success of that running game to set up opportunities for Kinslow. One on one he is a handful. Whether BG has DB's who can stop him I do not know. The three RBs are all good, the line opens good holes, and will be tough to stop. The QB is a good game manager/athlete. The defense is very good and hits hard. Hard to imagine anyone beating them by 28.

Winning over DeSales is a good win no matter what class they are. And is that a shot at South Oldham? Like they were not worthy of being there. They had a very good season, a balanced offense and a pretty good defense in 5A. Fern Creek earned their spot in the semi's in a hard fought game and I wish them the best.

T is 12-1 against Fern Creek. First meeting in 1957 and the last in 2006. Not sure about the exact year FC beat the Rocks but I'm pretty sure it wasn't 1994 (the year T beat Shaun Alexander at State). Rocks lost to Central that year and FC beat X that season.

 

I'm sure one of our T buddies will jump in with the exact year the Tigers got the one victory.
