To answer macdon, to me top teams are top teams regardless of class. CAL, DeSales, Mayfield, Belfry, Central, among others have gone toe to toe with good teams in the upper classes and either competed well with them or beaten them. That is why DeSales is #17 in the state regardless of class. A good win against a top team is a good win. I don't always agree with the rankings but that seems to be the measuring stick we have.

As for the scrimmage, no I do not put a lot into those. Too many coaches have told me they are trying to find out what they have and where the pieces fit and the depth they have and were not trying to "win" a scrimmage. Too many variables -- returning starters, coaching staffs and their philosophy towards scrimmages, personnel, change of schemes, etc all play into it. Games are games and the coach is trying to win, nothing else. I put more emphasis on that.

 

More often than not scrimmage results tend to be pretty accurate regardless of whether teams are trying to win the scrimmage or not.

 

I'll also add that scrimmage results are almost always taken into consideration by the winning team's fans.

 

If BG had lost to Manual in the scrimmage then publicly I'd be saying scrimmages don't count for anything but privately I'd be scared to death.

Tomorrow night all speculation ends and all questions are answered.

I'm taking Bowling Green. Fern Creek had a very nice season, but can't see them getting past the Purples after what they just did to Owensboro.

I think this will be a really good game and the winner of the Pulaski/Highlands game aint going to want none of the winner.

As a SW fan I don't have a dog in this fight but would really like to see BG win . Don't have a clue about FC but in order to stay in this game. They better bring slot of speed with them. Good luck to both teams

I understand your post perfectly. What you think and what will happen may be totally different. Hope your wrong. Are you an expert on Pulaski and Highlands football? If you haven't seen either one lately, you may want to do some research.

Remember, these kids are in HS so anything can happen. Hope they all play great with no injuries.

I know quite a bit about Pulaski...and yes they are kids and anything can happen. But all things considered I think BG and FC are better.

Highlands has steamrolled through a bunch of bad teams. Pulaski County struggled with North Laurel and Fern Creek barely got by South Oldham. The coaches have done a wonderful job this year. This is not the same team that started the season. They are a veteran team on a mission. Game Day!!!

And maybe North Laurel and South Oldham were better than people thought or gave credit for. Pulaski, Highlands, and Fern Creek earned the right to be here today just like Bowling Green and anything can happen. At this point of the season it is survive and move on because all teams left are pretty good. I agree Bowling Green has got great momentum going and looks to be the favorite. But the others have survived and moved into the semi's and to me that is still momentum. They fought for 4 quarters and they are winning!! Just wish I lived closer to some of these games and could go! Good luck to all!!

BigDaddy, I appreciate you saying this. Im a Purple fan but I live in Louisville and therefore dont have any aignst against South Warren. I hope there are 2 Championship teams from Warren County this year! Good luck tonight against a very good Shelby County team!
