  1. Everyone is saying how fun of a game it was to watch, WOW my heart can not take games like this. I beleive this team is the Cardiac Kids. By the way it was a great game to watch and a tremendous win for the CAT's hope they can continue the win trip to the tourney. GO CAT'S!!!!!!!! JD
  2. Mike Carter of Carter Roofing in Erlanger, Kentucky has done my roof and garage great guy and workmanship. JD
  3. Congrats to Ben what a great hire, if I had a kid today in high school I would love for Ben to coach him. I met Ben the first time when he was playing football in pee wee and also high school. I got to really know Ben when he came to Lloyd and what a great person to have teaching your children. I wish him and Holmes the best of luck as this is definitely a positive move for Holmes. JD
  4. Guru, next time you are in Erlanger stop by Salvatores pick up a 3 pack (3 medium pizza kits) you put the stuff on the dough pop it in the oven 15 min and hot best pizza going. I think it was $12.00 for the package. Keep them in the freezer and you will always be ready for guest. JD
  5. Gedtsow, Cauley-Stein will replace Noel. I still think they can make the NCAA someone now needs to step up more than ever they still have some good players and they will all need to play more as a team than ever. Not going to be easy and they have their backs up against the wall. Tough road games left and some home games its time to step up or sit down and look at next year. GO CAT'S. JD
  6. Congrats to Max on going to EKU and yes he will be with a very good friend of mine son in Paul Ritter, also if I am not mistaken both Max dad and uncle both played at EKU and were kickers/punters. JD
  7. Since 1965 I have seen a lot too many to list, Jon Long, Greg Kunkel, Billy Lyons, those are just a few from Lloyd there have been several from NKy over that time period. JD
  8. I was frustrated in the first half and went to bed due to the referee's calling it so tight. Woke up this morning and Happy Hump Day to me and the rest of Kentucky. Major top win for UK to go along with there resume at this point. In ESPN braketology they have them a 10 seed playing Kansas St in Utah. Going into this game I was thinking NIT. This team is starting to grow up. Great win for the CATS. JD
  9. Tom Thompson was a great ref and person. Now Doc Morris had one of those hugh marbles in his yellow flag and loved to throw it at your helmet when you did something stupid (hold, clip, facemask, etc.,) and it would just ring in your ears. He was a cut up and loved what he did I agree R.I.P. DOC. JD
  10. I was told after the game that Hatton shot the lights out. Had over 20 points after the 3rd qtr. I was not there just going by what two ole Lloyd grads told me before the UK game started. JD
  11. I look at it this way 1/2 way thru the season and we are 11-5, I too was spoiled last year and struggling to get through each game with this team. I just hope by some chance they get the team concept of this whole thing. Not only defense look how many times these guys do not finish going to the basket on layups. As big as they are I just have a hard time not watching them stuff it and challenge someone to foul them. However, again our foul shooting is horrible. I still love my C-A-T-S and will be with them thick and thin. JD
  12. I will agree a win is a win on the road in the SEC. Tired of saying well it was at Vandy we always have tough times at Vandy. Well you do not squander a 16 point lead and miss that many shots to let a team back in. For Wiltjer well put a man on him and play tight he does not score and for defense he has none. Again nice to see the win on the road, better play better Saturday at Rupp or could be 10 and 5. JD
  13. Happy Birthday to Aunt Bea and a great family. Hope she has many many more birthdays ahead of her. Good luck at the track. JD
  14. To much hype for Florida in this game a 14 point favorite and all the sports guys were pro Florida and gave Louisville very little love as you could tell in the broadcasting of the game. CONGRATS to all the Card fans and well deserved enjoy this one for a long time JD
  15. Just came down I71 from Madisonville to Erlanger was wet not bad just got to watch out for the others that are texting, cell phone or day dreaming. I took my time and made it okay. Tomorrow a.m. might be a joy. JD
  16. No crying on my part and as for theOldguy we are just stating facts about NKY football the CJ never did recognize NKY so be it my friend. JD
  17. This is nothing new as I said in the state polls. NKY always get left off the courier journal rag all the time. This is not new happened in the 60's when Highlands had all the good teams and very few made it. Along with the 65 Lloyd State Champions. I was coaching and scouting since 1983 and nothing has changed. NKY could win every State Championship and get slighted. There is Louisville, Lexington and the rest of the State. I am done complaining and agree with what everyone before me has said. We know here in NKY what we have to offer. JD
  18. Nothing on the news since 5 a.m. this morning so they have nothing to do but report the snow that may hit or miss at this point. I have heard 2 to 4 in NKY along the I71 corridor. However, if it shifts a little could be 6 to ? If I had to work today I guess I would be forecasting anything that was close. I prey it misses us as driving to work will be an absolute fiasco. I could careless how much we get as long as it is shoveled off the highway by morning. We know that will not happen. I always liked nWo forecast as you could count on it be 95% right. JD
  19. I read this thread every year and want to congratulate all who made this pretigious nomination. Northern Kentucky never gets the love from around the state. Like Mayfield sportsfan said he was happy to get an opportunity to watch Max Nussbaum from Beechwood play. I myself loved this young man I also was empressed by Jonathan Jackson of Mayfield whom I watched several times live an on film. What a player WOW. There are always players that will not get mentioned and picked. This is what all star teams are about. If they go out and play they are all ALL STARS to me for taking the extra time to participate. For the individuals that get to pick these players I feel for also because how could anyone get around to see all of these young men player during a season. It is tough here in N. KY. to pick the first and second teams from all of our own players. Sorry just rambling on this early Christmas morning. Again Congrats to all the young men who made these teams. JD
  20. It reminds me of when Lloyd held the Famous Recipe Classic in the 80's what a field from all over the state and it just went away. Wish everyone best of luck in the tourney will try to make it up for a few games on Saturday morning. Thanks everyone for the information. JD
  21. Lawnboy13, now I know who you are after trying to picture you. By the way just keep the shotgun by your side when the boy's come over they will get the hint. No just kidding what a beautiful family. We had two boy's wow you are going to have your hands full my friend. Merry Christmas to you and your family. JD
  22. I know Lloyd has a tournament coming up does anyone have any site I can go to, to get times and who is playing. Thanks. JD
  23. Congrats to Coach Eviston and best of luck at Georgetown. NewCath will survive and make a good choice I wish them the best. JD
  24. Leatherneck did you play with him or was he before your time. I played him my freshmen year and we could not tackle or catch him. We only scrimmage them 2 more times until I graduated in 1970. JD
