  1. It is hard to pick the best now if you broke it down who was the best running back from Highlands in the 50's, 60', 70's etc., I played againts one Nelson Red in the late 60's and he was a tough one and fast. I would have to vote other because there has been so many good backs as well as teams at Ft Thomas. JD
  2. Ole Ryle Raider, I played for all those coaches and they were great teachers also. I have and always will respect them. They kept me on the right side of the tracks when I was younger. JD
  3. He Roy Jr was at Beechwood, Simon Kenton, Newport, Lloyd, Campbell and now SK again. I also think he may have coached down in Ashland area with his father also. JD
  4. Easy way to solve this is since they have 6 classes of football lets have a Mr. Kentucky in each class. Myself I have seen Jackson in person, my dreams and a hugh headache in Class A football. For Quick I have only seen him on film that I got from other schools that played him. I was told by a Ryle coach back when Quick first played for Trinity he was the best WR he has ever seen play. I turned and told him you have not seen Jackson from Mayfield. We say don't compare score's etc., however looking at strenght of schedule neither Trinity nor Mayfield play a cup cake schedule. I wished they both could get it and I wish them both best of luck.JD
  5. Dan Goble from WKy coached with Roy Lucas Sr at Lloyd Memorial High School in the late 60's I played for both and they are great coaches and teachers and I will always remember the two of them. JD
  6. Most of these young players are just removed from high school about 6 month's ago and are still young men. I can not beleive anyone can attack these young player's. At least last year the in coming freshmen had some kind of supporting cast. This year they are just not there and everyone left. Thing about what you were doing when you just gradated high school six months into your freshmen year in college. I was sweating my you know what off becoming a Marine. Lets give these young players time to grow a little. Just my opinion. JD
  7. Congrats to BG on their State Championship. Cooper High School be proud of what you did this year, Congratulations to Coach Borchers, Asst Coaches, players, cheerleaders and the Cooper Nation on a great year. I know my brother in law Randy (Coop Dog) Cooper would be proud. You all set an accomplishment that many new schools do not attain in such a short time. Be proud especially you seniors a mark that does not come easy. Again CONGRATS COOPER HIGH SCHOOL. JD
  8. Congrats NCC coaches, players, cheerleaders and fans great seaon and State Championship what a way to spend a Saturday afternoon following birdsfan on BGP and then seeing NCC won. Congrats NKY High School Football now Cooper bring aother one home this afternoon.. JD
  9. Congrats to toothpick, mayfieldfan, coaches, players and fans. For the past 3 year's I have always wondered how anyone could stop JJackson and now when that young man is healthy forget it. Again Congrats on a State Title to Mayfield well deserved. JD
  10. My good friend coaches at Raceland and he was texting me the scores in this game last night and told me that Fairview has 4 backs and they are very hard running backs and bruising like Jonathan Jackson. I was shocked at the final score and think this will be another classic in Bowling Green, good luck to both team's. JD
  11. Congrats to the Cooper coaches, players, cheerleaders and fans what a great year to be having in only their 5th season as a football team. When I first went to Cooper is when the school was dedicated to Randy Cooper my brother in law. They did a first class act then and I only new in time they would reap the benefits of this new school. Congrats and I know Randy Coop Dog Cooper would be proud if he was with us today. Good luck next week and WIN STATE!!!!!!!!! JD
  12. Toothpick, Mayfield fan and all the rest take your time and have a nice and safe trip to NKY and good luck to both teams. This is going to be another classic to 1A football in the state of Kentucky. Like VOR said be sure to bring warm clothing as a big shift in weather from a great week in the mid 60's. JD
  13. It was on Foxsports South in NKY. It was not pretty and Morehead will win some games this year. JD
  14. As Lawnboy13 said at this time of year it is NKY against the State. I am wishing for four State Titles this year for an early Christmas present to all Northern Kentucky Football Fans. Good luck Highlands, Cooper, NCC and Beechwood. JD
  15. Good luck to the BW coaches, players, cheerleaders and fans get after Mayfield and head to Bowling Green next week. By the way Mayfield have a safe trip up as the weather is going to be nice. JD
  16. Congrats to the BW coaches, players and fans great win and good luck next week against Mayfield should be good match up. Congrats to Frankfort on a great football season. JD
  17. Looks like Mayfield will be traveling to Beechwood next week. Have a safe trip. JD
  18. CoachBuckett you said a mouth full here and I agree with you get better and shut up. Your freshmen and sophomore's want to play also and not just go in to say I stepped on the field. They work hard and should play hard. I don't mean run fake punts, pass and on side kick's when a team is down. Thanks for the enlightenment. JD
  19. For the past four year's I have scouted Frankfort and came back with this statement " I hope we will be ready and to strap on the gear cause Frankfort is for real" I have been surprised everytime I saw them play and impressed by how hard they faught. I beleive this QB will be tough to stop he was last year as a junior. I agree with VOR we are always in a dog fight the first half and seems we just pile it on in the 2nd half. This will be a good game and both teams will be ready. Good luck BW Tigers. JD
  20. I only have the problem early in the morning I can not get into any threads. JD
  21. I thought the same last year when HC came to town and the tide turned and HC beat NewCath in a close one. I feel Walton Verona will keep it close however NewCath will win in the end as long as they control tempo and the ball. I like NewCath in this one. JD
  22. Each city is backed by the Kentucky League of Cities and I am sure they have to carry a certain amount of insurance for these kind of law suits. I wish the officer the best of luck on the civil side of this one. JD
  23. Congrats to both the St Henry boy's and girl's teams on another great season and again State Champions. JD
  24. Just like their daddy David he was the same way and now as a coach tries to instill that in the LLoyd program. David and I scouted for Lloyd in the 80' and 90's what a great family. JD
  25. I heard it was a broken ankle hope I am wrong Sarge. Congrats to Lloyd on a great year at 8 and 4. Only 7 senior's on Lloyd's team and with three good back to back middle school team's should reload again next year. JD
