With what he's done in the last few years in WV, Jeff Barth has to be seriously considered the coach of the year after clinching their district. I am biased because I know him, but I also know he was a student of the game even back in high school. It obviously hasn't changed. Great job this year JPB!

He's done a great job at WV. Hard to argue against him. Would make a great poll question though.

He is very deserving. I believe the Year Coach at Lloyd ( Stratton) is very deserving as well.

I agree on Lloyd's coach, but the winner is going to be Cooper's Coach Borchers.

I think Brossart has done a great job for Dixie.

Borchers will win the award, and Cooper has had a great season. He's an easy pick this year.

 

I agree Barth is doing very good things at Walton, following the lead of their previous coach. The Bearcats seem to have their ducks in a row for a fledgling program.

 

I'll hold off on judgement of Stratton. Lloyd has some ability, and they don't play the toughest schedule in the world. Not sayng he isn't doing a good job, just saying I'm holding off on my evaluation at this point.

 

Brossart got Dixie the 2 seed in the wicky wacky 6A district, when most on here were ready to write them off as going 0-10 after two weeks. Worthy of mention in his first year certainly.

Jeff Barth has done a fine job at WV since taking over for Woody McMillian a few years ago. He's a high character person and surrounds himself with high character people. If he were to win the COY award, it wouldn't surprise me at all. He does deserve to be in the conversation at the very least. Randy and Dave have also done outstanding jobs with their kids this year. Everyone knew Cooper would be good, but no one thought Dixie would be good and they've surprised everyone. Personally, I'd like to see a Co-COY award, but that's not going to happen. All three of these men have represented their programs, their communities and their families well. All great coaches in my book!

I'd say Borchers, Barth, Stratton, and Trosper are all in the race. All have solid squads, playoff runs will be the determining factor. What separates Barth and Borchers for me is both have young programs at extremely high levels.

Unfortunately, Coach Barth doesn't get a vote in NKY. They don't consider Walton in voting. Anything south of Florence.................

Great job by WV but they may want to think about beefing up that non-district schedule a little in years to come to get them some additional exposure much like Holy Cross has done over the last couple of years. Borchers, Trosper or Stratton would get my consideration.

Lca and Holmes on the schedule for next year. I guess they heard you. I agree with any of the above listed coaches but of course I favor Coach Barth.

Jeff Barth is NKY's best kept secret. The guy is a very good coach and a great guy. He'd get my vote.

Both Lloyd and WV had similar schedule's and if played the same schedule Cooper played would not be as impressive. My vote would go to Borchers or Trosper at this point due to strength of schedule. I like what Barth has done at WV and wish him well and they look good for the future as does Lloyd. JD

All of the coaches listed above have done a tremendous job! I would just like to throw some recognition to Chad Montgomery, HC at Dayton. He has done a wonderful job of not only improving the quality of play on the field, which has shown with more wins this year than they have had for a while, but also in getting the boys to come together as a team.
