There are a lot of deserving Coaches for this award. Brossart, Montgomery, Wooley is even in the mix, but at the end of the day none of these Coaches has taken a school from nothing to back to back district champs and has a 8-1 record. For that Coach Borchers should get the nod. He has done wonders out at Cooper, and hopefully their ride can continue throughout the playoffs. Good luck to all coaches come playoff time, and let the most deserving of this award be granted it.

Both Lloyd and WV had similar schedule's and if played the same schedule Cooper played would not be as impressive. My vote would go to Borchers or Trosper at this point due to strength of schedule. I like what Barth has done at WV and wish him well and they look good for the future as does Lloyd. JD

Your comparing apples to oranges. Cooper is 5a and not 2a. Coach Stratton I think is also done a great job but to compare LLoyd to Cooper's scheduling is not really fair.

Jeff Barth has done a fine job at WV since taking over for Woody McMillian a few years ago. He's a high character person and surrounds himself with high character people. If he were to win the COY award, it wouldn't surprise me at all. He does deserve to be in the conversation at the very least. Randy and Dave have also done outstanding jobs with their kids this year.

Couldn't have said this any better! What he has done to help foster the successful Walton Verona program over the few years of its existence is simply phenomenal.

I am sorry if I cam accross that Lloyd had as tough or tougher schedule. Not what I was intending to say sorry if I confused anyone. Lloyd had a nice schedule they could play with these teams and some they could not. Lloyd is only in 2nd year of rebounding from a 17 player team 3 years ago. JD

:confused:Yes I understand that but what I am saying is neither Lloyd nor Walton should be playing Cooper's schedule because they are 2a. Cooper is 5a and they should be playing that schedule. They are 3 classes above both and have alot more kids than both. That's why I am saying it's a apples to oranges comparing the schedules of both John. No offense intended to you or LLoyd I like what Coach Stratton is doing there. I think Walton should increase their non district to included more challenging teams which they have done for next years schedule(ie..Holmes and LCA).

Jeff Barth is NKY's best kept secret. The guy is a very good coach and a great guy. He'd get my vote.

 

 

LCA will also be playing Estill County next two years. I'm very surprised that no NKY team is on Estill's schedule. Now back to the topic, Coach Barth has done a tremendous job in what little time he's been there, he would get my vote for NKY Coach of the year

Didn't LLoyd beat Walton at Walton. That has to count for something. Also, dont think Walton does not have any talent. The Mosier kid is a stud and the TE is very good as well. The 2 transfers from last year that play Wing Back /linebackers are nasty and make that team very tough. Barth has done a great job too.

Lloyd beat Walton 38-33 at Lloyd in a weather delayed game early this year. Walton made a change at QB and hasn't lost since. If things shake out just right in the playoffs, they will meet again at Walton this time. Should be a good game. Lloyd has a hard nosed QB and some nice receivers. I am sure both teams are far better at this point in the season. Walton does have some talent on this team. Coach Barth will tell you this could be all together his most talented group. You don't win games with zero talent.

Coach Barth is definitely a great candidate for this, but I don't see anyone getting it this year over Coach Borchers.
