Wow, just when I thought these allstate lists could not get any worse.:confused::ohbrother:

Let a non Highlands fan be the first one to say ...WHAT THE HECK? This team is so lacking in Northern Kentucky players it loses credibility. If I counted right, there are 5 players from Northern Kentucky named.

 

There has to be some explanation. McCoy is AP first team all state and he isn't even named on this team. Twenty-one QB's are named on this team and McCoy is not one of them. This team makes the AP team look like geniuses at work.

That's my point, the consistency is awful. I don't even know where to begin. Truly the worst so far.:puke:

Sorry to say the least, did the CJ not make any trips to NKY this year? Although I am not a Highlands fan, they dont land one player?????? Really! Biggest joke I have ever seen, all credibility at CJ is gone.

This is nothing new as I said in the state polls. NKY always get left off the courier journal rag all the time. This is not new happened in the 60's when Highlands had all the good teams and very few made it. Along with the 65 Lloyd State Champions. I was coaching and scouting since 1983 and nothing has changed. NKY could win every State Championship and get slighted. There is Louisville, Lexington and the rest of the State. I am done complaining and agree with what everyone before me has said. We know here in NKY what we have to offer. JD

It isn't just Northern Kentucky, it is the whole Golden Triangle. 110 coaches around the state cast ballots.

I realize that you can be a great HS player but not a good college prospect. But, the number of of college "undecideds" on this team is

surprising. James Quick is undecided but he will sign with an AC college. The others....not so sure.

Like me, the coaches who voted did not see all these players. The composition of the team is a lot different than what was is posted on BGP and the make-up of the AP and Lexington paper teams. It seems the coaches sure found a lot of sleepers out there. Good luck to all the boys who were voted on the team.

Lets see. Johnson Central had two offensive linemen one on the first team and one as a honorable mention and a honorable mention RB but yet they only scored 15 points and gained only 180 yards of total offense yards against a team (CovCath) who didn't even get one member of their defensive team on any of the list!

 

Oh, it gets worse....CovCath who didn't even have a single member on the CJ team, put up 519 total yards on JC but yet four members of Johnson Central made the Defensive Honorable mention team and a fifth was their punter, oh and as I said CovCath put up 45 on them and it could have been worse.

 

So a total of 8 players from JC are consider the best in Ky and CovCath has 0 and HHS 1?

 

Yea right CJ, tell me again why the teams from NKy should call their scores and stats into you?

Guys quit your crying about the all state team...there will always be players get left off that is deserving...it is what it is.

No crying on my part and as for theOldguy we are just stating facts about NKY football the CJ never did recognize NKY so be it my friend. JD

A I can say is WOW!! What a flippin joke!!! By far the worst All-State Team I have seen yet..

The 2012 C-J All-State team is an obvioius product of block voting from coaches in the far western and far eastern areas of the state. It is in no way a representation of the best or most successful players in the state. Highlands, Bowling Green, and St. X are three of the elite teams in the state and COMBINED for one player on the first three teams. The indvidual schools had more than one on those first three teams included South Floyd, Johnson Central, Belfry, Mayfield, Christian County, Graves County, Paducah Tilghman, and Caldwell County. There will always be flaws to selecting any All-State team but the lack of participation by some media outlets for the AP and the block voting by regional coaches for the CJ tend to make these teams less of a real representation than they should be. Congrats to all of the outstanding players recognized and for many of those left out, enjoy your championship rings.

Oh I concur but for an enter section of the Commonwealth, one that is known for it's quality of football teams from top to bottom, to have so few players from that area on it's team?

 

Only five players from the entire NKy three County area (by my count) made the list compared to Johnson Central who had eight, come on Man!

Well, we've heard for several years from the NKY contingent about the greatness of Johnson Central. Maybe their players are finally getting the recognition they deserve. :lol:
