  1. Arnett has really come into his own this year and has recently shown his mobility and running ability, which just adds another dimension to an already potent offense. As good a athletes as Hughes, Jones and Company are, I just don't see them being able to keep up in a shootout and if they try and keep Mayfield's offense off the field with ball control, I don't think they'll be able to sustain drives against a very stingy, fast and swarming Cardinal D. I think they'll have some success offensively, but, as quickly and efficiently as Mayfield's offense scores, the Stangs will be hard pressed to keep up.. I think Mayfield scores at least 6 times and hold McCracken to 3 scores.. I'll say 5 TDs and a FG for 38 points for Mayfield and 2 TDs and a FG for McCracken for 17 points for McCracken...
  2. Give me QB Landon Arnett & WR Lane Kennemore, both of Mayfield..
  3. I agree on Daviess. They still have some work to do to replace anyone on the list, but, definitely a team to keep an eye on.. F.Simpson is another really good team that laid an egg vs Caldwell, but, that loss may not look that bad if Caldwell continues to play well. I think FS is better than they've shown thus far.
  4. Personally, for my money, I'd rank NCC at #3 , CAL at #4 and OB Cath #5 . Then the last 5 of Danville, LCA, Murray, Lloyd and Monroe, in that order. I'd probably swap Desales and Mayfield, as well, although, it's pretty much a coin toss there.
  5. I'd take Russellville out and put in E'Town. Nothing against the Panthers, but, the N.Oldham win trumps Butler Co win and both played cupcakes the 1st 2 weeks, and, even there, the E'Town wins were more impressive than Russellville's. I definitely think Caldwell should remain in Top 10 and thought about even taking Graves out, but, that Murray win was solid and the Hop'Town loss doesn't look as bad as the week's wear on.
  6. I don't see how you can keep E'Town out of the Top 10, maybe even Top 5 or 6. N.Oldham was a solid win. A lot of good games this week. I expect a big shake up next week. If S,Warren handles C.Hardin, then they deserve to be on top of the perch, but, I have my doubts in that one. Mayfield will get a tough challenge from an ever improving McCracken team with loads of athletes. I don't expect BGreen to turn the ball over and give up big plays on special teams like last week either.
  7. 6a - Trinity 5a - Bowling Green 4a - S.Warren 3a - Boyle Co 2a - Mayfield 1a - Beechwood
  8. I think PT will be right there in the hunt. They had a huge week 1 win 21-7 over a strong 6a team in McCracken Co, who in the last 2 weeks have blown out Warren Central and Madisonville. They contended with Central Hardin, another strong 6a team, for 3 quarters, before CHs size and depth took over late. It's easy to downgrade them after a loss like this, but, truth is, Mayfield's really, really solid this year and would do the same to a lot of quality teams this year. One thing about Tilghman, they always play a quality non-district schedule and there record may not look great at season's end, but, they'll be well tested and ready to go come playoff time and typically make long runs when it counts.
  9. Caldwell's no Mayfield. They'll hold up their end and then let the chips fall where they will. Selfishly, I'd love these 2 teams to be on opposite ends of the bracket and meet up in B.Green. Instant classic and clash of the Titans.
  10. I wish Mayfield would posts stats. Arnett has to be hitting on about 85% of his passes this year.
  11. PT is a good, not great, team. I think they're a couple of steps behind the better 3a teams, but, still solidly in the Top 10, probably in the 7-8 range. I don't see them being able to contend with Boyle, Lex Cath, Belfry, Central, but, they could beat any of the other 3a teams on any given day. Other than 2 fumbles deep in their own territory that set up both of PTs scores, Mayfield pretty much dominated and had their way.
  12. Butler Co is a good ball club. Solid win for the Panthers.
  13. Tilghman forced to punt after a big sack, but on the punt, Kennemore fumbles and the Tornado has the ball at the Card 9 yard line.. 1st and goal.. 1 play later Dunagan finds a receiver in the endzone, PAT blocked... Mayfield 7 PT 6 with just over 3 minutes left in 1st qtr.
  14. Tilghman picks up another 1st down at the Card 38..
  15. Tilghman starts 2nd possession at own 20 yard line and quickly picks up 25 yards to the 45.
  16. 7-0 Mayfield w/8 minutes to go in 1st.. Arnett to Kennemore on a 40 yard TD strike.
  17. 7:30 kickoff tonight.. All time series stands at 46 - 45 - 10 in favor of Tilghman. Game at McRight Field in Paducah. Should be a good one.
  18. I love it.. Desales fans love to throw out the fact that they dress 90 kids and don't have anyone going both ways, when talking about other 2a schoos, but, then try and play the "We're just a little ole 2a school playing a big ole 6a school" and I hope we can compete.. There shouldn't be a problem competing against any size school when you dress more than most 6a schools do, should there?
  19. It won't be long before they get each other on the schedule.. Being so new, no way would it have been smart to schedule BG when they 1st got going, but, as good as they're doing now, it's a make sense game. I think SW is way ahead of where anyone thought they'd be at this point..
  20. 7 - Collins 5 - Nelson Co 3 - N.Bullitt 2 - Butler 1 - B.Green TB - N.Bullitt
  21. 7 - Southwestern 5 - Pikeville 3 - Lynn Camp 2 - Johnson Central 1 - Hazard TB - Southwestern
  22. 7 - Boyle Co 5 - Anderson Co 3 - Scott Co 2 - Bryan Station 1 - Johnson Central TB - Scott Co
  23. 7 - Daviess Co 5 - Grayson Co 3 - Caldwell Co 2 - Barren Co 1 - Fulton City Caldwell Co
  24. I think the Top 4 win and the next 4 lose, which separates them from the pack even more and it's already pretty top heavy..
