  1. With this being the 1st year of the new alignment, I'm a little confused which district is which on the east side.. What district # is Danville in.. Are they paired with the NKy district, Eastern district or the Gallatin, Carroll Co district?
  2. Good read, but, need to correct where the Mayfield/Corbin game was played.. It wasn't played at Campbellsville College, it was played at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Ky..
  3. Russellville will dominate their district, just like Mayfield did, but, beating Fulton Co and Fulton City isn't that tough. Crittenden may occasionally have a team that can play with them, but, more times than not, it'll be Russellville's to lose. I will say teams like KCD, Bethlehem and Holy Cross will have a much better chance to advance further than they did when Mayfield stood in the way, but, more times than not, Russellville should handle any of those teams.
  4. When all's said and done, Corbin will make a deep playoff run. Don't be surprised if they make it to the semi-finals. Outside of Belfry, not sure who else would be favored over Corbin from the east side in 3a.
  5. I wouldn't give SK much credit for beating Highlands either, it's a very down year for the Birds, but, the win over Bryan Station is a big time quality win, no matter how you slice it.
  6. Good ball game. Caldwell pulls away in 4th quarter. I suspect these 2 will meet again come playoff time. Solid win to get a one up on home field thru out the playoffs.
  7. When's SK going to play someone their own size?
  8. Solid win by the Tigers.. Looks like they're getting healthy and peaking for a long playoff run.. Should be a great game next week with Mayfield..
  9. 5 - Caldwell Co 3 - Bowling Green 3 - Spencer Co 1 - Paintsville 1 - NCC 1 - Cooper 1 - Madison Central 1 - Mercer Co 1 - Murray 1 - Belfry TB - 76
  10. 1) Male 2) Trinity 3) Simon Kenton 4) Scott Co 5) Bryan Station 6) Manual 7) St Xavier 8) South Warren 9) B.Green 10) Johnson Central
  11. Those teams the Panthers had when they were playing up in 3a a few years back would have a lot to say about some of the best teams.. Maybe 1 or 2 of the years Russellville played Mayfield, I felt Russellville was the best 1a team Mayfield played. I felt Beechwood was better 3 of the 5 years, Russellville, 1 of the 5.. About even the other. I think they were better than the Frankfort team that beat Beechwood though..
  12. The only game they played poorly and struggled was the game vs Graves Co and they had 3 key contributors out for that game, there QB being one of them. The other loss was to a good Hopkinsville team that they took down to the wire and had a chance to beat all the way to the end. They were also without a couple of their key players in that one. When Murray has their full compliment of players, they're a very tough team. As far as I know, all these kids are back now, that's why I picked them to beat the Panthers, but, even if they do, I don't think it says anything less about Russellville, unless it's a complete blow out, which I don't expect..
  13. IMO, Murray should beat Russellville, but, these 2 teams are pretty even from a talent standpoint. I think Murray has a slight advantage in the trenches and have been challenged a little more this year than Russellville has. In saying that, I also think I would likely favor Murray over any of the other 1a teams, too. When healthy and playing their A game, I believe they'd be ranked #1 or 2 if they were in 1a.
  14. I've heard no more than 2-3 weeks out on the Bright injury, which means he'd be back for the Ballard or Webster game, which they may sit him an extra week or 2 as Ballard nor Webster would give the JV team much of a game this year.
  15. The McCracken loss, Fern Creek loss, Boyle Co loss, Central loss, Simon Kenton loss, Owensboro loss and Daviess loss are all not bad losses. With exception of Daviess, every one of those teams are highly ranked teams in a larger classification and Daviess is a pretty good 6a team.. So, let's look at the quality wins: Paducah Tilghman and Graves Co would be Mayfield's quality wins, Ballard and Butler would be Desales's quality wins, Rockcastle Co and Corbin would be Danville's quality wins, N.Oldham and Eastern would be CALs best wins and S.Spencer would be OB Caths best win. From that, I'd give Desales credit for the best win vs Ballard, Mayfield would have the 2nd best win vs Tilghman, Danville would have the 3rd best win vs Corbin.. Not sure I could give a lot credit to any of CALs and OB Catholics and, to be honest, the Graves Co, Butler, Rockcastle wins are good, but, nothing to write home about as none of those are having a stellar season thus far.. Based on all this, I see it 1) Desales, 2) Mayfield, 3) Danville, 4) CAL and 5) OB Catholic..
  16. LCA has too much offense for Fairview, imo. It'll be a high scoring affair that in the end, the Eagles prevail.. LCA 49 Fairview 35
  17. I think I'd give it to Ludlow at the moment with B. Brossart, KCD, Harlan, Crittenden Co and Bethlehem, in that order..
  18. Mayfield over NCC Mayfield / CAL NCC / Danville Butler Co Murray
  19. It appears the Top 9 teams in 1a have been pretty consistent all year long, but, ranking that 10th team has been a challenge. Out of these teams, who deserves Top billing? Bishop Brossart - 4-0 with wins over Dayton 35-0, Aiken, Oh 26-22, Bellevue 24-21, Trimble Co 40-0. Harlan - 4-0 with wins over S.Floyd 60-26, T.Walker, Va 41-28, Bracken Co 28-21, Jackson Co 57-8. Ludlow - 4-1 with wins over Newport 34-0, Bracken Co 24-6, Gallatin Co 43-15, Trimble Co 61-12 and it's only loss to Paris 28-0. Crittenden Co - 4-1 with wins over Todd Central 35-14, Hopkins Central 48-24, McLean Co 31-8, Webster Co 44-12 and it's only loss to Caldwell Co 53-6. Bethlehem - 3-1 with wins over Nicholas Co 28-8, Thomas Nelson 28-14, Berea 73-6 and it's only loss to KCD 38-14. KCD - 3-2 with wins over Atherton 47-19, Carroll Co 40-0, Bethlehem 38-14 and it's losses to LCA 55-34 and Washington Co 40-36. None of these have actually played what I'd call a Murderer's Row of a schedule, but, some have stepped up and played better competition than the others. So, how'd you rank these 6 based on what they've done thus far and why?
