Agree, unimpressive win for Creek.

Unimpressive victory is pretty good description. A casual fan might have expected a blowout just from looking at comparative scores from Fern Creek 14-0 win over DeSales, and DeSales beating Fairdale 42-6. But that game Fairdale had suspended several players including their starting QB, RB. I think it would have been a closer victory for DeSales with those guys playing.

 

 

Fern Creek got the ball first and drove to the 8 yard line but a two dropped passes set up a short FG. Fairdale got a big 73 yard return down to Tigers 11. But a big hit on 3rd and goal by T'Zaiah Harris on Max Cole knocked the ball out and backwards, Fairdale faced 4th and goal from their own 16. Garcia's pass was intercepted by Lamarius Kinslow at the 2, he get a block or two and heads down the FC sideline, taking it to the house escorted by a couple more FC defenders. But the side judge threw a sideline warning flag and blew his whistle, at least 10-15 yards behind the play and it nullified the return, Tigers took over on their own 40. They said inadvertent whistle, normally the first sideline warning does t involve a whistle or stop a play. That drive stalled out, and after a punt Fairdale took the lead on a 79 y pass from Dylan Garcia to Tyler Koch, Max Cole kick. At halftime Fairdale led 7-3.

I was concerned here, the Tigers offense hasn't come out of halftime well this year only scoring 6 points in 3rd quarter in 1st 5 games.

Fairdale got the ball first in 2nd half, but went 3 and out.

Fern Creek offense picks a good time to get hot in 3rd quarter, putting together a 7 play 57 y drive. Lamarius Kinslow scores on 33 y pass from Shamar Bryant, Flener kick. Fern Creek now up 10-7 6:23 3rd qtr.

After a Fairdale 3 & out, Fern Creek 3 & out, then Fairdale 3 & out, Fern Creek take over on own 31 at end of 3rd qtr still leading 10-7. On first play of 4th, Devon Blincoe breaks a 67 y TD run, Flener kick. Tigers lead 17-7.

Fairdale forced to punt again after 2 big sacks. Fern Creek drives down to the 2 yard line but a bad snap on 1st and goal led to an interception on 2nd and goal.

Fairdale got 2 first downs and moved into FC territory but stalled on downs. Fern Creek was able to run the clock out, aided by a roughing the punter penalty with under a minute left that allowed a couple kneel downs to finish the game.

 

Each team had a passing TD but really couldn't get their passing games going in the steady rain.

Jamison White led all rushers with 19 carries for 112 y, Devon Blincoe had 5 rushes for 69 y and a TD, Kyree Hawkins rushed 3 times for 29 yards. Delquan Wimberly 8 carries for 22 y.

Shamar Bryant completed 6 of 16 passes for 79 yards and 1 TD, with 2 interceptions.

Lamarius Kinslow had 5 catches for 67 yards and 1 TD, Jamison White 1 catch 12 yards.

For Fairdale Dylan Garcia completed 7 of 21 passes for 114 y and 1 TD, with 1 interception. Max Cole rushed 12 times for 11 yards, Garcia 5 carries -23 yards.

Tyler Koch had 3 catches for 99 yards and 1 TD, Max Cole 2 catches for 17 y

 

Fern Creek's defense led by Fred Harris with 7 tackles, Tim Long had 6 including 3 sacks, Latrell Streater had 5.

For Fairdale William Smith had 9 tackles, Breshae Bartee had 8, Max Cole 7, Jake Roberts 6, and Tyler Koch 4.
