Monroe County has played a Tough schedule (5A BG, 6A NHardin, 4A Franklin Simpson). They have been competitive in all their games. By competitive in the BG game, I mean their players never quit and they kept executing some of their plays. It's easy to hang your head when you're down and they never did. Now that they are into 2A games, I look for them to really turn on. I honestly think it will take a Mayfield/Desales type team to knock them out. I think Monroe is in the 9, 10 range, but I'm spitting hairs with you here.

 

Butler County at 13 is probably their ceiling. One VERY good player and the rest just ok. Will beat teams they are better than and lose to teams they are supposed to lose to (by a lot).

 

Glasgow is in the same boat as Butler. But next year may be the year they can improve as I think they are young.

I said it earlier this week, I am very confident Monroe makes it to Regional championship, and I am 85% positive they play Mayfield again at semi-state...that's as far as I can go with it this year! The rest is up to the boys.....can they win State? It only takes them playing like they can and a few breaks from the football gods! They have the talent and their sos has prepared them for some tough teams late in the playoffs!

I honestly think LCA could won their district, I'm not sold on Danville yet as being as good as everyone else thinks they are.

I still think Somerset is better than many think.

I think there is a little truth in both of these...but at the same time I am not on the LCA bandwagon whatsoever.

 

 

I think Danville is drastically improved and deserving of being the clear favorite in that District and Region, but I also don't think they suddenly became the clear cut favorite to get to Bowling Green like some think.

 

I also think Somerset is vastly improved as well and IMHO is the 2nd best team in that District and maybe in that entire Region.

With this being the 1st year of the new alignment, I'm a little confused which district is which on the east side.. What district # is Danville in.. Are they paired with the NKy district, Eastern district or the Gallatin, Carroll Co district?

Interesting comments on Danville. From a distance they look pretty strong. I was thinking they win out playing a ranked Campbellsville team, Somerset, Lexington Christian and a Frankfort team that will almost surely have Anthony Robinson back. Any of those teams going to beat Danville?

Danville is a much better team this year. Best team they have had in 7 or 8 years. The biggest improvement in my opinion is on the defensive side of the ball.

I can't remember the district number but they are in the same district as Somerset, LCA, & Middlesboro.

In Somerset and LCA, you have two very young teams. Sophomore heavy. If either team gets on track and both have shown they can, they could be dangerous.
